damn i really HOPE theres not a hunger bar, i play on peaceful and i LIKE not having to waste bag space on food!! Also the bottom bar looks a lot like an XP bar to me.
Jeb has mentioned on twitter that there will be a way to stack food in 1.8.

I think that the chicken legs bar is probably hunger (maybe with the new difficulty that i heard about, not sure if that's true though) and the bar the only thing i can think of now is maybe it is an energy bar for the new sprint feature in this update. not sure though
I hope they stick with the taller world limit because I'd love to climb and explore mountains like that and that floating island looks pretty cool as-well.
I personally think it's an armor bar.
Sure, you can gain experience now with the orbs. Sure, you can sprint.
But give me one good reason why those two new features would need a place right on the HUD for you to see at all times. Think about the minimalistic qualities of Minecraft. Do you think its creators would start cluttering your screen? In the COD franchise, for example, once you're 'out' of sprint, you just slow down. And experience could be better placed in the pause menu or the inventory menu.
Just my 2 cents..I guess we'll see when the update finally drops.

Well the armor meter wasn't very useful in the first place. However, experience is something people tend to want to keep track of without having to go into the inventory. What if you're fighting a group of enemies? In SMP you can't just go into your inventory because it doesn't pause the game. Having it on the HUD would make it more convenient to keep track of.
should stalk the realms neather, skylands, and nether like he said, but instead remove the bedrock between the nether and over world so you can dig down to it sense obsidian is bloody hard to get ahold of

Obsidian isn't that hard to get a old of and the nether is supposed to be harder to get to as well as that it would hog a lot of resources, making minecraft terribly slow. Nether is essentially a whole other world compared to the regular world.

And I'm certain both mentioned that there was going to be a realism/hardcore mode, which is adding more realistic features such as hunger.

that is an EXP bar, most likely. What will EXP be used for?
I wonder how armor will be implemented.
