Yay for chicken not fully sure why the chicken is circular though I think it should be more boxy you know the the shape of the chickens in Minecraft other then that looks great and I'm even more excited for 1.8
Well, the laucher does in fact work, but it kinda stinks how laggy it is when playing from a webpage. I still like the old laucher more. Oh and the new hight restrictions look awesome! I'm assuming that the new highest point will be layer 255!
New launcher worked like a charm. And if this means I can make buildings high up without clouds going in them then I approve! :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
The "mysterious bar" at the bottem of the health is the experience bar, which is filled up by experience orbs.
There was a Minecraft Wiki page on said orb, but it was deleted due to a rule on the wiki.
It would be an even nicer addition if Notch implemented Magic into the game, and the bottom bar could then be turned into a Magic Meter. Only time will tell what its true function will actually be though...

guys, i don't think he's wearing any armor, notch may have fixed the armor, so it replaces the health bar when you put on armor, so the armor would take damage before your actual health. the bottom bar is either a sprint/ability limit, or an energy bar (related to the food bar).there is suppost to be added game play modes. such as adventure, and creative. iv heard that on creative mode the player will be given the ability to fly. just like in adventure, it would be sprint. the update seems pretty epic, all though i wouldn't like to loose my items because i died from starvation, way too realistic...
I think the chicken looks a bit TOO realistic, i mean its all round and such, it would be better just to give the chicken the leather picture and make a new one for leather
Some processes are actually SLOWER on realtime, since it eats up so much more CPU than it normally would. Try setting it to high.
No difference, just tested.
Decided to get optimine/optifog as well. Performance is smoother and my FPS is now averaging 40, but occasionally drops to 30 from time to time.
It would appear if the new map height does indeed slow FPS in 1.8, people with default graphics cards may have to rely on optimine/fog to function properly.
Looks More Like An Experience Bar Than Armor Bar, it would make more sense to put the armor bar above the health bar and keep hunger bar where it is, aswell with the "Experience bar" or stamina, alos a progress bar for survival mode, either one im okay with and am NOT dissapoint. Great Job I CANT WAIT FOR THIS UPDATE!
ADVENTURE UPDATE!! HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAI WILL WATCH YOU ROT HAHAHAHAHAHA

The exp bar looks interesting, though.
