With the recent release of the 1.9 Pre-Release V3, we were introduced to the brand new world of potions in Minecraft. Anyone who has dabbled with this new system is undoubtedly aware of how complex it is, even with what seems to be an incomplete list - where to begin? What does one need to make any kind of potion? ShaunStatic brings us this video tutorial, that answers these very questions, and some new ones as well! This clear, concise tutorial explains exactly how potions work in 1.9 PR3, and walks you through the numerous steps one by one. We don't want to spoil it though - give it a look!
Awesome Vid! This clears up a lot of the confusion people are having. I look forward to another explanation when they get more complex in full 1.9 or even 1.9pre4 ヅ
I don't get why so many people are hating on potions... I think they are great!
And... I think that the effects can be really useful for Machinimas!(and I bet most people will agree with me on that)
Eg. potion of instant damage can be used to make an instant death affect if the texture is made transparrent.
Also it would be really cool for both single and multi-player if the effects were hidden until you used it on some special block. That way you can put things that seem like potions of healing but are actually instant damage. also it would make it a lot more fun when brewing.
It would also be cool if the fermented spider eye added some good effects and some bad effects instead of just getting rid of the good effects all together. That way to get the best effects you also have to suffer through some bad effects(potions that would be more balanced in multilayer.
Eventually there will be a book of all minecraft knowledge implemented into the game, but if you want to find the potions info, you'll have to..... Turn to page three-hundred and ninety-four....

So far. Jeb is keeping it in the game until he thinks of a use for it.
