@Scottbrew: That's too much work for something that used to be simple. When you have to do that every 5 or 10 minutes it gets beyond frustrating. Esc, options, video settings, change setting. A few minutes later, Esc, Options, Video Settings, change setting again. A few minutes later Esc, Options, Video Settings, change setting yet again.
@brudertack82: That isn't much better then going to the options. It's going to be a real pain trying to clear lag as I'm being chased by mobs when I have to take my hands off the move button to change the fog. Will mean getting blown up by creepers and attacked by Endermen. I don't know why Notch can't just to what's best for the players and leave it be. A lot of people rely on the Fog toggle to clear up lag quickly while playing, and this just makes it more difficult for nothing other than Notch's ego as a programmer. "I don't feel it belongs, so I'm removing it despite the fact it hurts nothing and is useful to many of the people who gave me money!" I like Minecraft. I don't want my money to be wasted when I can no longer play due to the lag and the inability to clear it up easily.
Crap update :\ the feature list is great but my god out of memory errors galore & lag heaven when rendering new chunks, seems to be CPU spikes that cause the 0 FPS & Freezing.
can someone tell me how to install mods on the 1.8 beta? I thought notch said he was going to have mods compatibility which I was under the impression it'll work very similar to texture packs where you just drop the file into the folder and it'll work? if not then it looks like using them will be the same old jumping through hoops.
At least you might have a warning, unlike me when a creeper decide it would be nice to a tea party on top of my door frame.
Oh, you should have said "Would you fancy a spot of tea and some crumpets, my good sssssssir?" to the Creeper.
