Minecraftwiki says new stone brick blocks will be added, there will be stone bricks, cracked stone bricks and mossy brick blocks.
That's not what I was referring to. There's a thin bar like thing that extends between the two blocks and takes up a single block. Not sure what it is..
ok so new things i can see are, some sort of vine/spike, brown stone, brown stone bricks, mossy brown stone brick, cracked brown stone, some sort of brown bar, brown gravel, stone brick, mossy stone brick, cracked stone brick, cracked stone. these are not names, these are what the thing looks like.
Nothing is brown, its caused by the new lighting engine. Torches give off a more warm glow, or better known as orange.

What about the dead skeleton?
Obviously its not a normal one, its brown. Could there be dead mobs in the dungeons? If so what would they do? just decorate?

Again, its caused by the light. Everything is changing because of the light engine. The picture was taken as a skeleton crashed to the ground and died.

Yes, bricks are a new block going to be introduced to make the strongholds more unique in its own. There's three types of brick: Normal, cracked, and mossy.

Btw... Did anyone notice the golden door near the Zombie?
It's not decolorated because of the new lighting feature,
there is a torch close to it, so: ITS A GOLDEN DOOR!

Door isn't gold. Most gold things you find ingame are of a bright yellow color. Its a wooden door basking in the warm light of a torch.
As for the stairs, those are smooth stone half blocks.
