Like the Aether, Normal torches shouldn't work in the Nether. Instead, you need to craft netherrack torches. Netherack torches can only be crafted with a blaze rod and glow stone giving you 16 instead of 4 (due to blaze rods being rare, you could also craft them with golden nuggets)
Apparently people think being on fire is the same thing as lava damage, and that lava itself is nerfed. All that's been nerfed here is being-on-fire damage.
Indeed. It sure sounds like falling in lava will still be death. But setting your toe on fire in lava is no longer lethal. Also, with new mobs in the nether than can set you on fire, where a bucket won't work, fire damage did need to be balanced.
This is welcome news. I've lost more than one 404 challenge to fire damage, not to mention countless Nether trips gone wrong after one measly fireball landed within a mile of my character.

Please, this will over complicate the video game. Games should not be made over complicate or else you will end up with something we see from Firefly's Stronghold 2 game.
Stronghold 2 was overcomplicated. Minecraft should not do that,
People are stupid. There are no new torches, netherrack torches = netherrack lit on fire. And touching lava and burn damage is still very different. Touching lava almost kills you instantly, while being lit on fire just prolongs the death.
Pretty good, I suppose lol. Falling In Lava is pretty much a guaranteed death. Minecraft's getting slowly easier...I guess adding Hardcore mode might help! :tongue.gif:
NETHERTORCH:
= Glowstone Dust
= Blaze Rod

and this will be helpful

"Nerfed all fire effects. Touching lava no longer means a prolonged unavoidable death."
Netherrack torches are simply netherrack on fire, people!
