They would get faster bug reports by releasing 1.8 now. By delaying the update not only are they making a lot of people upset but they are making more work for themselves and increasing the amount of time it will take to get a 'bug free' 1.8. After all, the idea of a game like minecraft is to get feedback from the community in order to fix bugs and other problems.

I just read through 19 pages of pure whining and ********... Like honestly will it kill you to wait possibly another week or less? And you all say "oh derp idc if its filled with bugs im a beta tester i just wanna play it" oh rlly? Lets say he did realese it on the 8th, and it was loaded with so many bugs that it would ruin the update for you, and then everyone would be like wtf is this **** i didnt pay for this, this update sucks, why didnt you fix the bugs first etc. You people are hypocrits. Instead of being greatfull that they are working so hard on 1.8 and trying to realse it as soon as they can to please everyone (they even splited it in half to please you) you still just ***** at them for taking so long, i mean cmon, do they really deserve to be bitched at after all the amazing stuff they brought to you? Just have some fricken patients and understandment, 1.8 WILL be here in a few days. Id like to see you try finishing such a big update in like a month...

There are videos of Notch using 1.8, it seems fine, not too many bugs, there's no reason for them to test it over a few hours.
If you're complaining about this, you're quite immature. You probably sit around all day going "OH BOI MIENCRAFT ISH COMING OUT ON TEH EIFTH OF SHEPTEMBURR!!" They want THEIR game to be perfect, why would they give you a super buggy version of the game? They're allowed to release whenever they want.
All the whiners here need to stop whining, testing is important, they find the major bugs and such, they release, we play, and we find smaller bugs. Its a cooperative process okay?
I don't even see whats so good about the 1.8 update. Its just an update like any old one, WTF happened to 1.7? Everyone was so excited about that! Well, maybe in the first few months of 1.8 it WON'T BE ENOUGH.
That is a good point. But all we got in 1.7 was shears, and droppable leaves, and pistons. This is the biggest update to date, bringing use 2 new mobs, mineshafts, NPC villages, bigger biomes, new biomes, abandoned fortresses (possibly dungeons), better dungeon system, hunger bar, skill points, a leveling system, ravines, opening chests, eating animations, mob interactions, and a lot more stuff that i have forgotten because there is so much.
PS: Godspeed Notch! Bring 1.8 to us as fast as you can!
As much as i would love it to be out on the 8th, on notch's twitter he says he keeps finding bugs and the sorts so it would be a better experience if those are sorted, but tbh i dont know if i could wait another week xD

Oh, and it gives me time to work on my Slime Farm. =D
