I doubt it will be bridging over lots of lakes, if bridging at all. I feel like that makes things too easy in the Nether. It may make it slightly easier, or maybe it;s just going to be a brick. Player-made, not naturally spawning. Maybe there will be strongholds in the nether, especially with the new Nether mob thought floating around. Much is possible with new blocks and items, but I do doubt Jeb will make the Nether a safe place to be.
I doubt they're any more durable than regular Netherrack, sadly. Which means you'll be out on a bridge and a Ghast will play dunk-tank with you... into lava.

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Possibility of NPC's perhaps? Notch is doing it in the surface world, why not in the Nether? Maybe since there are normal zombies on the surface then there will be normal NPC's and since there are zombie pigmen in the nether, maybe there will be pigmen in the Nether as well. What do you think?
Ooh, shiny! I do hope that Ghasts can't damage them. It's hideously annoying having to craft cobblestone bridges to get around anywhere without having to worry about the ground beneath you disappearing. :tongue.gif:
Looks like more than -JUST- bridges... look toward the center. Those archways seem rather... conspicuous... to be -JUST- part of a bridge. I think we may be looking at some sort of ruin of a Romantic style city, or perhaps even one that is still occupied by its builders... zombie-pig-man villages?
On the right side down of the pic.
