They sold 1 mil copies, and they have one programmer that really works on game, wtf is this?
Good game, bad management. I am starting to think that they didn't deserve all those sales.
I say, with only three people in the office, three million copies sold is extremely impressive. You don't really need a huge staff to put out a great game, and 1.8 proves that there's even more good to come. Sure, more employees would make things quicker (in theory), but the updates have been coming at a pretty reasonable rate. Not to mention the 'Scrolls' project and whatever else they aren't telling anyone about yet. Good work, Mojang. All of you.
---> 1st delay: The Adventure Update was suppose to be released as 1.7 (that I was okay with)
---> 2nd delay: The Adventure Update was suppose to be released near the end of August (one delay no big deal)
---> 3rd delay: The Adventure Update was held back due to bugs to September the 8th (it's beta, we test bugs?)
---> 4th delay: The Adventure Update was held back again due to bugs that they should of fixed after the 2nd or 3rd delay. (What in gods name is Mojang doing?)
At this point there is no room for excuses, Mojang has delayed the Adventure Update 4 times. Are they even bug fixing there or just slacking off. I don't understand how an update can be delayed 4 times, and still no release, the only thing we get is an extremely laggy, and 100+ bug pre-release. 3rd thing, why would only Jeb be working on fixing a massive amount of bugs. The dumbest part is that Jeb is working on fixing the pre-release. How about you guys give us an official release date for the Adventure Update that's so stable, Chuck Norris wouldn't be able to delay it. Never have I seen such a slacking team of coders.
I will never understand why Mojang decided to do this MASSIVE update with all these delays, and huge amounts of bugs. Even after splitting the update in half it's still to big. Looks like splitting the update into quarters is the only solution. In my opinion they should post a message and a date stating that the adventure update will be released on this date weather all the bugs are gone or not. And if there are still bugs we can do BUG PATCHES (like they normally do, but for some reason they don't). So all I'm saying is Jeb & Notch really need to get their but in gear.
---> PS: Do not bother posting any dates as we know they will not be made after I've pointed out all the delays.
Three strongholds a world still seems like too few...
Maybe one every biome or two instead?
That would be way to many, three is good, but if i programmed it for more that 3, there would probably be one in every 10,000 square blockes or something, even then, there would be to many, i dunno, but strongholds need to be super rare.

You cant do this stuff fast, they released the pre thing to show us why it has been delayed so much, just the fact that they have it playable already is amazing, "100+ bugs" they work their asses off at Mojang, this update to us is just some new in-game stuff, but its MILLIONS of lines of code, and if there are millions of lines of code, there are thousands of them that dont play well, so they have to spend a long time de-bugging, and 4 delays isnt that bad, in total, weve lost 15ish days from when it was supposed to drop, there have been games and updates that have been delayed a year or more past their original drop date, we dont have bad delays here, but since most everyone seems to be 12 and think that this can be done in an hour perfectly, we have ignorant people such as yourself.

With the amount of time they had, and only a pre-release? Come on now, really? That's a slacking moment right there. Plus considering it's Minecraft why couldn't they have (just like every other update until now) released the update everybody is dying for then do bug patches after. Is that so hard to do? And I cannot believe how laggy the pre-release was and I was playing on the lowest settings. None of this is making any sense, and I'm finding it hard to believe how 1 person can code even one million lines of code. I have no idea where you're getting this information from but it's extremely untrue. It is not physically possible for 1 human being to sit and type a million lines. Hear me out, MINECRAFT ALPHA would of never even been released if someone had to type 1 million lines. And why all of a sudden do they decide to pack so much into one update. Even splitting it in half didn't solve it, for all I know it might of made it even worse. But what I'm saying is if they did what they usually did what they did for the other updates, and starting sticking to stable deadlines, we wouldn't be here arguing about it.
Stop the whining. If you want 1.8, download and install the pre-release. If you can't figure out how, go back to middle school.
I'm glad to see Mojang learning from their mistakes and ironing these things out before full-release. 1.8 is such a tremendous addition to Minecraft. Thanks, everyone.
Some people need to understand that no devs are perfect. Sure, a developer can predict a date, but will they always be spot on 100 of the time%? No, last minute things do and will pop up eventually. Things WILL get delayed eventually. Quit complaining and be glad Jeb is fixing some of the bugs instead of releasing it as is. Plus, developers also have a thing call a life.

Before 1.8 Minecraft had 4 Billion lines of code...im not sure how it goes, but a lot of the code came from the canceled game Infiniminer i believe, after that games coding and stuff was made public domain, but im not sure if thats true, i believe that some of the code writes itself, but again im not sure, i dont code stuff, i just mess with it afterwards, or alter a few individual lines. But i guarantee they are working hard, and if they are slacking a bit, who can blame them? would you want to sit and stare at a computer screen for 10+ hours a day, 5 or 6 days of the week? If i was them, i would probably only work 4 days a week, and 8-10 hours, taking hundreds of hours off of time put into the game. Jeb is dedicated, Notch i heard is working on MC again tomorrow, taking a break from "Scrolls" or this secret project. so with both of them working on MC 1.8 is probably gonna be getting to us before the weekend, but if a major bugset shows up, were in for another delay. which is why they're giving us 1.8 Pre-release V2. which is the newest build of 1.8, and will hopefully fix many of the problems.

When you're dealing with customers, and a huge springing game there's no time for "their lives" until the game is done. Otherwise I really don't know why they became a coder in the first place. Their basically slacking around posting a new date every week and not making em. You fail to realize that when you got a job you're doing that job, you're not gonna play around with people. And all of you need to stop acting like you know what goes on there. Nobody here knows how many lines they code, how much time it takes to perfect 1 line of coding, and so forth. How about they get their asses in gear for this update then they get back to their lives. But oh wait, Notch is on so many vacations he's practically retired, what's Notch doing? Nothing flying around in his 747 making Jeb do all the work. Notch is a coder himself, therefore meaning he needs to do something or people are gonna start going Duke Nukem. When you have constant delays, and only 1 person out of a team working on thousands of lines of code, that kinda does tick some people off. A delay is not something you can abuse, you don't just delay, delay again, and delay even more with nothing coming out of it. We paid for the game and we wanna play it.
Notch has been basically doing nothing for a month right? It's nice that he made millions off of us, but he did promise updates(Adventure Mode, Capture the Flag, etc). I think it's time he got back to the hard work that made minecraft that way.
Where in the heck did you hear that from? 4 Billion lines of code? Of course a program did most of that. Is that why bugs exist in even any game? The program messes up on the lines of code or something? I was thinking the same thing, I think everyone wants a very stable version of the Adventure Update before the weekend. In my opinion finishing one game would make much more sense considering Scrolls was just released not to long ago. I would imagine at least 5 or 6 people working on the game, but 1 person is a little wack if you ask me. I think we all just want this update in the next few days without a 5th delay, otherwise they might as well just release it with bugs or not. It really would make more sense for us to play it while it's released then for them to do bug patches after. I'm just bored out of my mind right now, I've been playing 1.7.3 for past 3 months and I want something new to do, but with all these delays it's just to long of a wait. I just want this update as soon as possible, and after that I could care less how long it takes for the game to be released. I can't believe they decided to do such a HUGE update and expect the same stuff to happen just like the other ones.
