I had to create an account just to throw my 2 cents in. Well, I can see how some people would be enraged about the delay of the release, if this is seriously the ONLY game they play, then yes, their life is "over". Which is really sad. There are plenty of games to occupy you for a few days til its out. no biggie. People like me learn to not fret over trivial things like this. It is just a game after all, the world isn't coming to an end, your lives aren't really "over" and for the love of God, quit threatening the people that created, work on, and brought you this wonderful game. It's immature, rude, and disrespectful.
Yes, they have given you the wrong date several times, but its alright, the game will come here when it does. you wouldn't tell a doctor to go **** himself if he said your wife was going to have her child tomorrow, then he said, well it might be in a few days or so, time will tell. Just let the men do their job, and wait. hell... go test the pre-release. I tried it and found the new terrain creation really great. Minecraft is STILL playable in 1.7, it didn't just become unfun all of a sudden. I enjoy Minecraft as I wait for more goodies to come our way.
If waiting for this update is really that painful, you might want to go to a therapist, because it seems you have serious dependency and attachment issues with this game. It's just plain silly how upset and shaken up people are getting over a game. And you call yourselves fans? You're like ravenous vultures clawing at each other and Mojang for some 1.8 flesh. And once this comes out, it'll only be a matter of days before you're RIGHT back here doing the exact same pathetic thing waiting, and bitching, and moaning like pregnant walrus for 1.9 and the final release.
I read through every page on here to see how many of you actually respect the time Mojang is taking to bring us a better polished, more refined 1.8 release and how many of you cant seem to quit PMS-ing about dates and what not. I've found that for every 1 person who is a true fan and ok with waiting, there are about 15 of you kids that cant accept how game development works and would rather cry, yell, and complain. Which means that out of the 3,438,053 people that have bought the game... sadly, only 229,203 of you are actual loyal fans. I'm proud to be part of that minority.
Well that felt good to get off my chest. If any of you agree, I would like some feedback. message me on here and share your opinions with me.
Even if you suddenly hate me for sharing my opinion and have a personal vendetta against me now, I would love to hear what you have to say as well.
Whoa, imagine the learning curve involved in that. To go from the game we have now to all of a sudden getting like 300 items in a major update. I think my head would explode.
I came to minecraft at 1.6 or whatever was before 1.7 and it was a LOT to take in and it was amazing. Ive never felt so excited about exploring content in a game. waiting til the full release would be grand!
I don't like how they keep postponing! The game is still a beta, and anything that needs to be fixed or added can be included in the next update! Just meet the deadline, !

Lol, this1.8 update is like getting Half Life Episode 3. XD
True. I have been waiting forever for Halfelife Episode 3. I remember finishing episode 2 and being so on edge about all that had happened up to that point. It's been so long, Ive long since forgotten what had happened other than *spoiler spoiler Eli... spoiler spoiler not alive spoiler dream of cheese* And so, if episode 3 ever did come out, I couldn't just play it... I would literally have to to play and beat half life 2, episode 1 and 2 all over.
I think 1.6 was the Seecret Friday Update or the Halloween one, can't remember. -shrugs-
I started taking screenshots since my 3rd world. It looked like crap back then, but like you said, true fans don't care. I think you'll agree with me when I say that if it takes them ages to fix 1.8 and release 1.9, I'm more than happy to wait. I'm playing The Sims 3 (PC), Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 and the pre-release 1.8.
My most favourite feature of the game is the active "trail and error" mechanics of the virtual reality. In no game I have ever played can I mine underground, break into a lava pocket and burn to death if I'm too slow to react.
yes, that was it. the halloween update, I had join just before they added it. I was playing with a pirated copy that wasnt official. but i enjoyed it so much that I bought it right after the first week of playing. then they added the haloween update! amazing.
i will now go insane. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1.8 will be better than Skyrim, even if Skyrim does release first.
Bethesda seems to be caring less and less about fixing major bugs in their games lately. It seems they're more concerned with mass-production. Eg. You couldn't do a damn thing in Oblivion without glitching quest lines (The Grey Fox never showing up, and being unable to delete spells from your list being two major problems that went ignored). Morrowind was just as bad, just in less horrific ways, there was still plenty of quest line glitches and cross-over errors, but it seems that the bug problems are getting worse. I pray for Skyrim to raise the standard, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Mojang is taking it's time, yes, but it's to ensure the quality of their content, not just throwing things at you, hoping they work. I have full respect for the developers, as I too would repeatedly delay an update to ensure that everything is operating at it's full potential. Personally, I'm having fun jumping ravines in the pre-release.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
agreed. Just tell everyone, sorry, we decided to wait til the full release, no 1.8, no 1.9 just the finished game. I wouldn't mind at all.
That was a joke by the way.

1.8 will. I dont think it will be longer than 1 week til its here.
Release this and add a 1.8_1 for bug fixes!!!
