I just hope the bosses drop special items that you only get from beating the bosses like an overpowered sword? ALso i think new weapon TYPES would be cool not just the sword and bow...ad some finess.
hmm, after hearing some of the arguments... why do you call survival mode the survival mode? what exactly does it have to do with actual survival? if you die you simply respawn, so you can totally care less about your survival cuz youre somewhat immortal anyways...
an adventure where its game over after you die sounds more than survival in compairson to what we have now imo :>
or am i having a wrong definition of "survival"? survival mode must be something like jesus mode where you get reincarnated after death
I dont realize why hes making it more like other games. if you like that game more GET IT. Minecraft didnt get famous for being terraria, its famous for being MINECRAFT
i honestly don't see why everyone criticizes this update. yeah sure hes copying some elements from terraria, but until i see the corruption biome with giant worms coming out of the ground, i've got no complaints. Not to mention that this update is just more content, like everyone always wants, and im sure notch (or a modder) will add the ability to turn this whole permadeath thing off. Furthermore i would like to point out that just because its an "adventure update" doesn't mean it is going to completely eliminate building and spending countless hours doing nothing (like you would normally do after building a giant house in survival anyway), you can still do everything in survival, its just now there is more to do.
And yeah, i know its "opinions" but they arent a valid reason for criticizing an update thats going to give us alot more to do then just building and spamming our mouse buttons to keep creepers away >.>
I just hope that if you actually "win" that it doesn't end that world, meaning you have to restart. Otherwise, this update looks good. Just hope it doesn't end up like terraria, where endgame = boring easy.
i think notch has gone a little grazy with this update.
hes taking the meaning out of creative.
i realy dont like the leveling idea.
just ad npc villages and thats it.
There's CREATIVE MODE coming out. And you can still be creative without it being on.
The leveling only affects maximum HP.
I have not been playing the game too long and I am most curious as to what these new features will be like in the end. As long as I can still set it to peaceful and build my buildings and dirt over my deserts, I'll be happy. Oh and mushroom biomes? :3 I so cannot wait! I have an area for mushroom trees set aside already! I am trying not ot explore overmuch so I do not have to go far to find new fun things.
What I would personally like to see, since I have become terribly lost a few times, is some method of being able to guide yourself to the "home area". Maps are great, but if you run out of map making material and wander off the 'edge" of the map, as I have, and get horribly turned around. Some sort of 'teleport home' would be grand. But as it stands, do not keep us waiting too long. I am far too eager for the update and the opportunity to play around.

I think Notch taking a lesson or two from Terraria is a good thing. Both games are similar and different in a lot of ways, and they can both learn a little from each other to make both games better.

that would be awesome
Modders, make it happen!
I don't see Eye of Cthulu, Skeletron, King Slime, or Eater of Worlds showing up.
Stop saying they're copying, they're not stealing anything.

why not? terraria's ideas came from a different game too.
