My list of bosses:
Giant Creeper
GIANT CREEPER
GIANT CREEPER GIANT CREEPER GIANT HUGE CREEPER GIANT HUGE NUKE CREEPER GIANT SUPER HUGE WORLD DESTROYDER CREEPER
I don't know why some people are not liking this. Don't you trust Majong to make it work?
I agree. According to the two general standards, Minecraft is either already an rpg since survival or never an rpg. Silverfish have been as confirmed as lanterns which will never be added, and Notch never said anything about goblins. Notch said he would add bosses like terraria, so they won't end the game. If you want to put all this stuff in a new adventure mode, then there will be no point in playing survival mode instead of creative mode or adventure mode.

i dont really know about the bosses, it has to be very good otherwise it ends up with an endless stream of videos telling how to defeat it :Notch:. Im looking forward to the towns and a jungle biome though :biggrin.gif:.
Seriously, I don't like the idea of Minecraft having a goal. Basically, you try to build a fortress and defend it from monsters while making it as cool/functional as you want. You could go hunting, if you want, but the game's focus shouldn't be on hunting down and killing monsters.
Also, I don't like the idea of powerful versions of normal monsters as bosses. If, however, boss monsters were more like the Ghast, it could be very cool. Monsters which require unique strategies to defeat, and live to make distant lands more dangerous, thereby making it hard for you to get the rare resources found there, would work. Boss monsters whose main draw is to kill them for loot are stupid.
Next person to suggest "giant creeper" will burn in the fires of a thousand hells.
WOW so we have to fight like MASSIVE creepers and there's gonna be like giant zombie spawners
I cant wait for this update !!!
Probably more like a 20-heart troll that lives in a ruin or stronghold and does 5 hearts of damage per swing, but can't leave the area of the stronghold.
Also, biome borders really only makes sense if biomes are much larger than they are now. Which Notch sort of hinted at and most people are in favour of.
I can't really think of ways this will happen that don't involve some sort of very close congruence between the terrain contour and the weather/biome substrate. For instance, taiga would probably only happen at higher elevations. Desert would be marked with sand as it is now, but also be flatter overall and might be bordered by a ring of mountains. A river might divide a biome from another biome. That sort of thing.
I would hate to see borders of biomes be marked with artificial structures or jarring, awkward terrain issues. I can see this happening with strongholds, NPC villages, and ravines.
Good question. The answer is yes.
