Can y'all believe they're gonna replace Survival mode with Adventure!? WTF?! Why not just add Adventure mode as a branch from Singleplayer instead? What's the point in minecraft if you can't have your own survival mode to **** around in!? And we'll have to start relying on food as well!? WTF?! Why would we want a goddamn Hunger Bar?! That is just stupid. Why not just make the damn pork chops ****in' stackable for Christ's sake! Is that too much to ask?!
Experience will be gained by defeating monsters and collecting the "Experience Orbs" they drop, which will later be used to purchase goodies for the player. It was not specified what could be bought at this time, but they assured us that it would be worthwhile.
as a bow addicted that I am (and probably even more after the chargeable bows), I kill so many mobs from my floatable or high structures, and getting down every time to collect the orbs will be a pain in the ass =/
@Golem_LT Do you not realize that this is the BIGGEST UPDATE IN MINECRAFT HISTORY!?!?!? Survival mode is being replaced. Do you really think that would be quick? Survival is being removed and turning into Adventure (Actually, I'm glad, because of NPC Villages. Being alone makes me feel like Herobrine is stalking me.).
They never said that "survival mode" is going down the drain. They said specifically that "Adventure update" does not mean "Adventure Mode."
P.S. Quit bitching, this update is going to be awesome, and you whiners should be in line to suck Notch's ****. I'd like to see you try and make something as awesome as this!
I can't wait for the villages, either. I hope I spawn in a village so I can have people to live with and a prebuilt house. The fact that they grow wheat and have a well makes them even greater. Minecraft is finally getting the update it deserves.
i dont like the hunger feature, and the leveling thing will completely destroy the purpose of rpg plugins for bukkit. i wonder if youll be able to turn off hunger and leveling on your server or singleplayer games.

I'm scared that the NPC won't be interactive. Notch was saying that he would prefer them to be non-interactive, but Jeb wants them to be interactive. Also, I'll bet experience orbs will be able to be spent at NPC shops.
