This is going to be the biggest and coolest mine craft update since it was made!

I can't even fathom the awesomeness.

@deathguardian9: Sorry to sound like a broken record, but IT IS. It's just getting a few upgrades and tweaks. Adventure mode is still in the development stage, and could take quite some time, from what I understand. There are three confirmed modes to be part of the final release: Creative, which is what we've seen in the livestream from PAX, Survival, including the Adventure update, and full-on Adventure, which is what we know now as custom Adventure Maps. SURVIVAL AND ADVENTURE ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MODES, AND SURVIVAL IS NOT BEING REMOVED IN 1.8!

i dont like it, notch is trying to turn it into an adventure game, but if i wanted one, i would play 1000 other games before minecraft. Minecraft is a building game, and i think notch is killing the feel of it

Want a build of 1.8 so bad.

actually, it is said that the enderman will only be able to move generated blocks. usermade blocks won't be able to be picked up

Yes yes yes, this all looks good but, I'm a little disappointed that this will be replacing survival, maybe I don't want NPC villages in the middle of my building world, maybe I don't like this at all, the point is, I think when we generate a world we should be able to choose whether or not we want it to be survival or adventure.

Notch said it would be optional to spawn the NPC villages and stuff

I don't like it. If things like some of this is made, Minecraft will turn into a WoW.

Dude. you're being annoying and impatient. This whole update takes a LOT of code, and it will probably be coming out in a week to a month. I'm sure you can wait.

FOR MY FIRST AND LAST TIME SAYING THIS: SURVIVAL MODE IS NOT GETTING DELETED. ADVENTURE MODE IS NOT GETTING ADDED YET. THE NAME OF THE UPDATE IS ADVENTURE, NOT THE NAME OF THE GAME MODE! IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA READ THE WHOLE TOPIC THEN DONT REPLY!

I noticed something in the video: As Notch was scrolling through the list in Creative Mode, he moved the cursor over a new block called iron bars. SO EXCITED FOR 1.8!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait a moment... I can make it not dark during the night? or is it that I can make night really short? what does adjusting day/night mean?
