First, notch said the Adventure update would be in 1.7, and then he postponed it to 1.8 which he said would be released in august. It's august 29th, and, at pax, he said he'd be waiting till 1.9 to release some of the features from the adventure update that are not done yet; I've lost all faith in Notch's word.
will our saves be corrupted and cannot be used anymore since survival is gone and is there a chance not to cancel survival?? pls give me an answer so i know wat to expect
@Xarvus91 : The only reason 1.7 isn't the Adventure update is because fans were clamoring for pistons so much that they decided to go ahead and split it into its own update. The Adventure Update would STILL be 1.7 (And would contain pistons) if the fanbase wasn't so rabid for said pistons.
He never claimed it would be out in August for sure, that was just his most hopeful, earliest guesses. The ONLY date he's set hard and fast to was "Sometime after PAX" and since PAX was at the end of August, it'd be kinda silly of one to assume it would be out in August.
Either we wait for 1.8 until WAY later, or we get what's done sooner, and what isn't done later. Wait longer, or wait shorter, which'd you rather do?

@firellama99 : From what Mojang has said, survival isn't being replaced. Adventure update does not mean adventure mode, the news post is incorrect, unless Mojang has changed their mind in the past few hours or something ~shrug~
for everyone whos says theyre getting rid of survival they dont mean removing it they mean adventure and Creative are being added so dont woory and u can use 1.7.3 worlds in 1.8 so dont worry about survival mode being gone u just have to start ur survivals again
i don't get what people are saying about survival being gone. he is just adding stuff not getting rid of the old. creative mode is optional and otherwise you can play the game the same with only a few changes. the only thing that you can't do that you used to is find old dungeons (assuming you are making a new world) and not gaining life instantly from food. so i don't get it!
