We're starting a new series to highlight various helpful submissions made by the community, called Helpful Hints! Our first segment was submitted by TheWaffleGalaxy, who gives us a detailed breakdown of the basics of redstone. Simple constructions, mining times, duration, distance and more are covered in this video, with more to come in the future. If you're relatively new to (or a bit overwhelmed by) redstone mechanics, this is a good place to start!
Helpful Hints is a periodic segment aimed at highlighting useful tutorials, walkthroughs and hints submitted by the community, whether in video, image or other formats. Do you know of a particularly helpful hint, video or other interesting piece? Let us know about it, and it may get spotlighted!
Didn't like tut so much, it's too scattered and doesn't get to the point. He should have introduced abstract logic gates first, then explained all about powering rules and such, then gave abstract views of how to build logic gates - like an AND gate is an OR gate with inputs and output inverted.
hm i think checking the wiki will still be more informative than this. also the redstone wire doesnt have to directly go into the repeater anymore since the last patch, its now also possible to power it with a sideways line.
I think I got a helpful hint video, if it fits. It's how to use dispensers and pressure plates to create some cool stuff set on a 5 minute timer, and in my case, a Sugar Cane Farm which cuts the hedges every 5 minutes.
