the other thing isnt the sunlight if you enlage the pic and look realy colesly to the left of the chest u can see that he has a sand block in his left hand! that mean that now you wil be able to put blocks in your left hand and tools in your right
I think the second thing is that chest is smaller. There is 1 pixel gap on each side and on the top. Just count pixels... it is 30x14x15(width x depth x height) Standard block has edge 16 pixels long...

Am I the only one who seems to notice that there are two cacti. Next to each-other? Look at the small group of cacti above the chest. These two cacti standing next to each other with out a skip in the sand.

I expanded it and there is something weird in front of the sun. It doesn't look like a sapling or dead shrb. Maybe it's a palm tree? You'll need to look at the picture in expanded form to see it. It's very hard to see.
That seems about right. Looks way better with the new lighting
