The thing is i see theres a couple of chests around i see 2 extra ones theres 1 behind a cacti and another abit futher away maybe in the update random chests will be scattered idk

Notch just told us two things were finished, never in the photo. I would like to believe that Notch added something else, but so far nothing has proven anything unusual. Notch probably just wanted to laugh at how crazy people can get when they are desperate. Or I just count, open chest is the first. Vines are the second. Done.

the second thing is giant biomes... i think, or is this a second thing we haven't heard of yet?

lol yes, it already does that, they grow 1-3 blocks tall

I think the "sand block" in his "left hand" is just a sand block on the ground it's perfectly along the perspective grid for the direction he's looking, vs if he were holding it, it would be at about a 45x45 degree angle.

The second thing could either be the colored lighting of the sand, the fact that there's a horizon, OR the one thing that it seems nobody has yet noticed:

Maybe there could be like bags in 1.8.3?Like you can craft different sizes of bags, like a smalkl bag would give 4 extra spaces, medium bag 6 extra spaces and large ba 8 spaces?that would be a cool feature!

Look at the left of the chest! There are bigger pixels or it just meant to be that way for the pic

I've always wanted vines. You can like make a city and then let vines completely grow over everything and give it that deserted ancient look.

I hope you can climb vines like ladders

Someone mentioned an alternate posibility that it's quicksand or some other hazard, hidden in the desert- but a left-handed view would be interesting. or maye the is the dual-weilding they hinted at... so many possibilities.
