How do you quote? And I think Rockslide proved 50% of the comments wrong with his recreation. It's just an elevation, not a sand pressure plate or left-handness. That leaves the other 50% who thinks it's the thing behind the cacti.
Apparently I'm imagining things, or I'm the only one through 43 pages, that noticed the cacti up against another block.
(Note: For those that don't know, currently, cacti cannot be placed against other blocks, else they automatically pop out; this game mechanic is most commonly used in cactus farms.)
That being said, I could just be seeing it incorrectly, but few cacti appear to be growing directly next to sand blocks. I honestly hope I'm wrong, or the wrath of a thousand cactus farmers will be felt across the land. Speculation is speculation.
Most people here seems to be retarded. The few smart people have already proven that it's an elevated sand block and not left hand-ness, quicksand or sand pressure plates. But people still post "IT MUST BE A SAND BLOCK IN HIS LEFT HAND". Notch himself has said he didn't want dual wielding. Besides, how would you destroy blocks if you dual wield? And sand pressure plates doesn't make sense, not even minecraft-sense. <_<
It is said so many times now, and people keep guessing :tongue.gif:
He is holding a sand block in his left hand... (It is not a pressure plate, because it is longer than the chest, meaning it would be 1,5 blocks long or so...)
I noticed left-handed Notch ONLY after i have read the comments.
Look at the angle.

If I was helpful, funny, or you just feel like it, please press the green + button, it's always appreciated.

hope notch DID fix it in 1.8 (as shown in his pic?)

Curse PremiumI think it's sand block in Steve's left hand but it could be a higher sand block.
