Yeah, me too. As far as I know he didn't confirm it was out, it was just missing from the menu we saw. So maybe it's just missing from the demo version.
I hope that is true. I am still working on the 404 Challenge and I have not had so much fun as this challenge seed. This opened my eyes to the real potential of the Seed Generation and would hate to loose that in 1.8. It would basically ruin a large growing sub-community of minecraft.

Does anyone else see in the 3rd picture "15 skill points" ? if there were actual skills we could have to upgrade, it would be amazing! like run speed or something! and also, if you look in the pictures of creative mode (?), i think i see brick stairs and vines i think

He said that later today or tomorrow the initial 1.8 will be released with only the bow, food, experience, and one more thing I can't remember
Then 2 weeks later, they will update it top 1.8.1 and that will have 5 things added.
And finally, 1 week after that, they will update it to 1.8.2 and that will also have 5 more things.

Also in regards to the guy who posted some weird looking link, yes it does seem like some phishing attempt or just pure trolling x-x
The idea of releasing update by parts is great! Just thnik of it, u can release only 100% working fetures, while fixing others and releasing them step by step. Players - Happy, Developer - Happy, PROFIT!!!
I think they should release full biome code so players can start making their own new worlds while waithing for other features, that not depends on world generating.

I think they should release full biome code so players can start making their own new worlds while waithing for other features.

Well, those might be in the 1.8.1 or 1.8.2, but i believe the only things added to 1.8 are enhancements.
I was talking to him on the livestream. So i dont really have sources, sorry!
