Well, it looks like we're finally getting to see what Piston's are going to look like, and the schematics for designing them as well. As promised, Jeb did make slime balls make the pistons into sticky pistons.

i watched the video and what really amazed me was the stairway/door thing on the house, that something i would like to make when 1.7 arrives, speaking of witch does anyone have any information about when its coming?
Am I the only one who noticed that pistons are geometrically...wrong? I mean, the "body" of the piston (the static part) is about 3/4 the width of the block. That means that at maximum, the piston should be able to extend by 3/4 of a block. But instead, it extends by a full block. I mean, I can see how that could be easily coded to work with no issues, I just noticed it nonetheless.
On a different note, I wonder how "mounted" items will react to pistons? If a piston pushes a block that has a torch or a sign or a hatch, how will said item react?
EDIT: I just had an idea for a new type of secret doorway, assuming doors can be pushed (or will move with the blocks they are on)
Basically, you have two stacked sticky pistons with a door on top of them, and then two blocks of whatever your wall material is above that. This is placed in the ground so that when the pistons are off the two wall blocks are aligned to the rest of the wall. Flick a switch (with some carefully placed redstone) and the door rises out of the bottom of the wall.
I was pretty disappointed that it didn't push chests or furnaces or things of that sort.
the topic does say "work in Progress" I assume that when they release 1.7 all blocks will be moveable with the exception of bedrock.
I think Jeb purposely do not want to push containers (chest/furnace/dispenser) as this will involve in complicated calculation in the inventory attached to it which will also increase the workload of the game engine.
Especially these things are to be designed in SMP environment. The flicking of redstone signals is already a framerate killer for SMP and I don't think the developer wants more things to be calculated for no meaning.
There is one thing I think the texture of the piston is somewhat incorrect - blocking water. Shouldn't it be sealed to the side so that water would not passed through/destroy the piston?
Anyway I am having lots of idea on how to play with the piston. Piston that cover the light source, piston that pump water upstream, piston that...
All of you asking if they will add the ability to push furnaces or chests, I think the reason he showed them NOT moving in the video is to show that they WONT move. So asking seems kind of pointless when the answer is right there.
This seems amazing, but I was still a little disappointed that blocks don't go into the air.
