Except it was Nintendo who recently approached MOJANG with the idea, not the other way around. Nintendo is fully on board, it is up to Mojang (and probably 4J Studios) at this point.
Minecraft on the Wii U and 3DS is definitely a possibility, and would probably be the best third party game on a Nintendo system in a long time if ever. It seems like a good fit.
I doubt the 3DS would be capable of handling it, although it would be neat if it could. I still wouldn't buy it, though, not much need since I already have the iOS version.

the devs said that the 3ds version of the game would have to be 0.8 of pe cause it could not handle anything else
and for the wii u i think it would run fine but i prefer to use a controller over a key board or tablet like thing

Yeah, I would like that! Maybe I would play on my 3DS more often if that came out. I think that should happen, but Nintentdo probably will not do it because I don't think they like Mojang. Also, it should not be on WiiU, but on the Wii with the Motion control remote do hickey. Why? Imagine punching in real life and you're punching a tree. That's why.

i have a wii u and a ps4 and here would be a better comparison of the two (don't have xbone yet but i do have a 360)
Wii u miiverse (its really bad and i have found nothing fun about it), really weak hard ware (some new games like batman the devs just came out and said ya its not going to run on Wii u) next we have the game pad which is really cool for games like nsmbu (which is an awesome game to begin with) the wii u can run 1080p and i forgot the miis the worst thing to happen to gaming (second being the xbox avatars) and has little 3rd party support but has awesome 1st party games (no zelda or pokemon they both suck)
PS4, 1080p and can run 4k, no avatars and miis which in my books makes it awesome. has good 3rd party support and has some good 1st party games (uncharted the last of us) the vita cross play works most of the time, and games on it just look 1000 times better then the wii u versions
