This Bug has been reported separately as different bugs in several threads but I just wanted to share a common connection that indicates that it is one bug. The disappearing items in chests happened to me, the chests in question were in a village that also lost all of it's villagers (not a zombie attack, all doors were in tact and I sleep nights), also an enclosed sheep farm (enclosed with sandstone and no sunlight) lost all of it's sheep. Furthermore there seem to be no free roaming passive mobs anywhere within the vicinity of the village. This could very likely be due to "saving" at an extreme distance from the location. Background: This is a new xbox one world, size large. When I initially spawned I ran significantly off of the first map. Passed one "sand village" and stopped at the second village which was about 1500 blocks from the first village. (both villages were off the original map)At first there were no problems. I saved/exited and re-entered the game several times without anything negative. I was raising sheep in the sand village to test the theory mentioned to me that the animal limit was localized and that traveling outside a certain area (the size of the original 360 game) would allow a whole new animal population. I verified this by creating a fairly large sheep farm at the sand village while my cow farm was maxed back at my home village. I don't know exactly when the bug hit but I have been playing this game with my GF online and sometimes we would be working in separate villages. All mined/placed blocks remained the same, but all chests and furnace contents as well as villagers and animals vanished at some point in one village while everything remained in tact at the other.
Furthermore I might add that it would be nice if there was an easy way within the save options to allow us to backup a world we're working on in order to help keep the game playable with bugs of this type. The threat of losing hours upon hours upon hours (to the point of days and weeks eventually) of work to a bug puts me off playing quite a bit. Hell I had an almost maxed Borderlands character save get corrupted and as frustrating as that was it's nothing compared to what happens in a "survival game" when a whole village is wiped or precious resources such as gold and diamonds vanish from chests, or a pen of sheep that you carefully colored and bred to supply your world with color. I'm not bitching, crap happens, but having a simply way to keep a backup besides moving a file to a flash would be nice.
Hi all. The only bug I have noticed is with the nether portals. I like to go to the nether often but the portals are so random it really spoils it. I have seen others mention it in this thread but it doesn't appear in the bugs list. I have tried to figure them out but there seems to be no pattern. Has anyone got a solution or is this broken?

nether portals work as intended. Read through the article and you will understand why they don't seem to link correctly. It is because there is another closer portal. Also portals do not have memory so just because it used to link to one area doesn't mean it always will. They link based off of Euclidean distance.
Like many others I have experienced the chunk issue in which large sections of the map are not immediately rendered and can take many minutes of exploring to force the world to come back. Even then it seems a little slower to move about and popping in and out of the Nether restarts the whole issue again.
I thought at first that if I gave the XBOX One enough time to load everything then eventually everything would just pop back. No such luck. Waiting does not help. There are only two ways I have been able to fix this issue and neither one is permanent.
Causes?
Too much data to handle at one time?!
This seems to be the problem. I only notice the chunk issue after I come back from exploring entirely new map sections in my world. By this I mean that if I search out a new 1000x1000 block section on a newly created map I come back to my starting place, save my game and when I resume later the chunking issue starts. I have also noticed this happened when I came back to my starting place and then jumped into the Nether. The Nether had been fine before I went exploring, but then as soon as I did and came back, the Nether rendered slowly and chunky again. The real issue here is that each map section holds a huge amount of data and however they are managing the data, it's not working.
The XBOX One standby mode.
There is no Exit Game in Minecraft any more. Instead, you quit Minecraft in XBOX One by pressing the special XBOX button on the controller. Instead of it unloading the game, you are taken back to the dashboard screen and Minecraft is still running in the background or in standby mode. Because if you start the game again, there's no splash screen or loading time. The game just starts again. I believe there's a problem here in that the memory is not being cleaned up, probably for faster load times and render times once back in the game. The Fix to Chunking Issues
Method 1: As mentioned before, I have only noticed the chunking issue when exploring a large world and I jumped from one map region to another. As soon as I start experiencing the chunking problem I do the following:
I exit Minecraft. If I didn't have the autosave on, I make sure to Exit & Save.
When back at the dashboard I press the menu (start?) button and Quit the game. This forces Minecraft to unload from the console.
I restart Minecraft and continue playing my map.
I've been testing this fix the past few days and this seems to resolve the problem. Any large amount of exploring slowly brings this problem on, triggered usually by a trip to the Nether or restarting my game from the standby mode of XBOX One. Resetting the game completely as described above seems to free up whatever memory issues there are and I pop back into the game and wherever I am is instantly displayed, no chunking at all.
Obviously I can't guarantee that this will work for everyone since I can't test it with everyone, but I think the theory is sound, based on what I know of the situation. Hope this helps get us through to a fix!
Method 2: This is the not-so-recommended fix. Force the game to render the world by running around exploring the blank chucks of your current map until eventually it brings your world back. This method does not address rendering issues when you pop through portals. You have to do the same each time you go through a portal. (Sometimes this is not the case and portal hops renders fine, but the more you do it or the longer you play, the worse the rendering problems get.)
Other Issues caused by Standby Mode/XBOX Change of Behaviour?
While reading the comments posted here I can't help but wonder if the XBOX One's standby and shutdown modes could be impacting Minecraft in other ways.
Missing items after exiting the game - If Minecraft or the XBOX are still in the process of saving data and people turn off the console too quickly data corruption could be happening. Whenever I exit Minecraft and do not force it to "Quit the Game" I hear the hard drive churning away in the background for a good 10 seconds or more. I am sure there is some behind the scenes cleanup happening that needs to finish. Perhaps waiting a little longer before turning off the console might help this? Or forcing the game to quit before shutting everything down?
Corrupt Saves - Same as above, if data is getting lost or not saved during the shutdown process there is bound to be trouble when restarting it. I have no idea what Minecraft does when it comes across missing data bytes, but I bet it's not pretty!
Final Comments
I have been playing the Minecraft XBOX One version since it was released last week and the chunking issue was the most frustrating problem I came across. Many of the other issues are carried over from the 360 version, so I wasn't surprised to see them in this console. I have not tried to import a 360 save yet, nor have I played any other map sizes other than Large, so my experience may not relate to others with the same problems but with smaller maps. Only feedback will tell if this is a consist issue.
What concerns me most about the XBOX One version is that the hard drive is constantly in use saving or reading data. I never noticed this on the 360 nor am I seeing this behaviour in other XBOX One games. I suspect that on the 360 they could handle the limited map sizes in memory easier than they can on the One version.
I am worried that many Minecraft players are going to find that the game kills the console's HD in much less time than it should. There's got to be a better way to cache the game so that it isn't wearing out the HD before its time. Maybe this is related to the chunking issue, but I haven't found much difference to the HD activity unless I turn off the Auto Save option.
If this issue can't be resolved then I hope Microsoft does buy Minecraft, because they will be in a better position to either replace the prematurely destroyed HDs free of charge or have enough cash to settle the massive lawsuit brought against Microsoft/Mojang for this HD disaster. I expect to be reading articles about premature wear and tear on the HDs within 6 months time or less.
I need help!! I click on load to load my world but when I click it my whole Xbox freezes and I can't do anything, so I just have to turn my Xbox off. So nothing works cant press any buttons, everything is just froze on the screen with like a minecraft world background. Does anyone know what happened and how do I fix this

When me and my friend opened the "Select World" screen (Pretty sure that's not the name), it was stuck on the loading screen (GUI was visible, but loading icon was stuck there) and the controls locked. We had to restart the console to fix.
When I try to use a boat, it constantly run into invisible barriers on open water and breaks or comes to a complete stop. Also, when I tried to create a water channel 1 block deep, 2 blocks wide to use a boat on to enter my base via a boat and 1 block deep of water, it constantly stops and breaks my boat on invisible barriers as well.
When I get out of the boat, it spawns me on the last land block I was on before entering the boat and the boat is broke in the same spot I had originally placed it.
-I want the disable auto save feature to be able to stay at what we have set it to before. (Example- I turn on Disable Auto Save, works until I get out)(It changes to auto save on)... I HAD DISABLE AUTO SAVE, please add this.
Something is wrong with the breeding system or peaceful mob limit. I had to search through 5 biomes to find a chicken to start a chicken farm and when I brought them back to breed them it said they cant enter love mode because the maximum number of bred chickens has been reached but I haven't bred any at all, or any animals for that matter.
It happened to me with chickens and I am the only one on my world. I just hit the first chicken and it said the maximum number of breeding chickens has been reached. and I only had 2 chickens when I tried it.
I also went to test out in a new world on creative mode to see and I spawned 2 chickens and tried to breed them and the same message came up.
Are there other players in your world? Could also be that they are getting stuck in areas and are unable to despawn then counting to your cap limit.

Have bought the game online for $20 for my kids (have gold account). Nor me neither kids can create online worlds. When I'm trying, game hangs with buzzing sound (for few seconds) then restarts. Kids can not create online games because some privacy settings, no idea which particularly. Both have "teen" settings for 10+ kids.

I click on the "play game" button and it takes me to the "start game" "join game" screen and it never stops loading. Never shows any of my games it just keeps spinning without ever loading the games to select from. I have literally been trying to get on to play for three hours now without any success. I have turned the xbox one off and back on again over and over again, loaded other games that worked perfectly but then go back to minecraft and nothing. Very aggravating.
I have tested it multiple times. They do work. Key points to understand is that the ratio is 8:1 for xbox one unless you are playing on a transferred map,in that case the ratio is 3:1. So lets say you have a portal placed at around 80,64,80 on a non transferred world then that means that the portal will attempt to form at 10,64,10. If this is floating in the air or is inside a wall then the portal will then try to form at the next closest valid location. However if you were to go place a portal at 10,64,10 then it would always go to this portal rather than any other portal. Portals can be tricky because they sometimes seem to be traveling massive distances for no reason but the case is that there happens to be a portal that is within range.
Let me give you an example of a portal traveling in multiple directions. Lets say you have an overworld portal at 0,64,0 and at 200,64,0 Then you also have a nether portal at 120,64,0. If you were to enter the 0,64,0 portal you would arrive at the 120,64,0 nether portal. If you were to enter the nether portal you just came out of it would actually teleport you to 200,64,0 rather than 0,64,0 because that one is closer. Feel free to ask questions.
Again I assure you that this is not a bug unless they are glitched at very specific coordinates for some bizarre reason. This is unlikely.
When importing my 360 world the world was rotated and map edges changed. Thankfully none of my structures were lost but one of the villages nearby is actually cut in half now by the edge of the world while on the 360 it was not.
I also noticed that when I looked at my map it was unexplored despite the fact on the 360 I had already explored the whole map.
