I was thinking, what about adding barrier blocks into the console versions. That way If anyone is doing something special in a certain area or something like the hunger games so they can't go too far away from a certain area.Do any of you think it is a good idea?
Isn't this the purpose of having bedrock available in creative mode - so you can place it and then not be able to break it in survival mode? You're not going to get something that no one can ever break in creative mode because of the potential of people accidentally screwing up their map forever (say, by making it so everyone spawns in an unbreakable area). Also, you're not going to get something you can acquire/make in survival mode that you can't break - for essentially the same reasons and so a survival only world can't be griefed by someone other than the host (because only the host can put a world into creative mode to get bedrock).
If the Xbox 360 world is too large for such specialized games and there is a need to have it survival only (i.e. with leaderboards and achievements active)... I'd be more in favor of 4J giving us an option to generate a super small world for such purposes (but then keep in mind that all the resources in that world, including whatever the host needs for building the game would also be in shorter supply than in the normal Xbox 360 world). In a practical sense, these sorts of specialize game maps are created in creative mode and then may be switched over to survival mode to play... so bedrock serves the purpose as a barrier just fine.
