As autumn is upon us, there are few things more beautiful than the vibrant red, yellow and orange colors of leaves changing. As such, I suggest seasons in Minecraft whether by a slider or timed throughout the game where leaves change from the greens to the colorful autumn colors mentioned.
Alternately, we could have these for creative mode, though would much rather have the randomness in thick forests as nature would provide.
Would the map get covered in snow when winter comes? Because that would suck. If were just limited to changing leaves, I could be okay with that, although I don't think the 360/PS3 versions necessarily need the extra demand on the already over-tasked consoles. While I'm generally in favor of anything that adds to the overall aesthetic of the game (within reason), this doesn't really scream out to me. Hmm, unless it was designed in such a way that a Silk-Touched leave block retains it's color when "player placed." Bah! I'm on the fence.
On the plus side, it could mean people can just sit at home and watch the leaves change on their MC game instead of driving to my state and cluttering up the highways just so they can take pretty pictures with their kids who, ironically, would probably rather be home playing Minecraft.
I live in New England and that happens every autumn
I would definitely suggest that its just for aesthetics and yes, silk touch or whatever means to remove leaves normally would keep its color (winter could change them brown instead of snowing). If it wasnt too much on the system, it could snow everywhere, but have no accumulation, just for the looks (I do love the snowing in the snow biomes, I have sat there in the spruce forests looking at the snow when it snows)

What would be the extent of these "seasons"?
