Minecraft mods would make console games so much better and add infinite possibilities and varieties. Fallout 4 can allow pc mods to come to Xbox so it's not a Microsoft terms of service issue its a 4j studios issue. If they were in touch with the community they would have focused on mods before virtual reality. I say this because adding mods will expand content that can be explored with virtual reality. Mods are an essential part of minecraft a soul that can be added to a vanilla minecraft body. The mods not only add content but allow the community to get creative and express themselves. Wouldn't it be great to have cross platform compatiblity for mods so it can be made on the pc and used on the Xbox or playstation. The more awareness this gets the more 4j will have to listen.
Ps mods/admins don't lock mod posts because you say it's a Microsoft ToS issue because it's not. e.g. Fallout 4 is allowing pc mods on the Xbox so why can't minecraft
That would be excellent. As a starting player, really I would love to see customized textures available (primarily Conquest), but some mods wold be ideal for me as well
Seeing others with my idea brings a smile to my face, if they don't even have to be more just additional content that you can get of the Xbox live market.
There are legal hurdles that need to be traversed before any User-Made Content (aka - Mods) can be brought from PC MC to the consoles. Assuming the code is successfully converted to C++, the original developer would need to enter into a contract with both 4J/Mojang and Microsoft before the content can actually be released. Barring the details (mainly because I don't know them ) this involves lawyers, expenses and all that paper-signing stuff. The content would also need to pass MS/Sony's Cert Testing, which for large, memory-intensive Mods can be problematic. Then there's the issue over pricing, which can be a whole different can of worms when the involved parties start talking percentages.
It's all a part of doing business if ms decides to add mods the benefits will largely outweigh the costs.
Well sure. But that's only if the original content creators want to do business. So the benefits outweighing the cost becomes rather subjective. Very popular "in-demand" content might never see it to consoles if the creator decides that hiring a lawyer and negotiating contracts doesn't sound that appealing.
First off I want to say I value your guys options very much but if mojang can make a modding plugin API (which they've promised) then adapt it for Xbox one the only thing people who mke mods have to do is convert their work into c++ which isn't too much work for the devs once the get the pc version of the API up and running
Please read the rules, Modification talk is not allowed be law, it is violating Microsoft's Terms and Conditions. If you would like to talk about mods, please go to PC's mod talk thread.

Its a suggestion to implement this into the game, how would that be against any ToS if 4J decided to do this? If one game already allow that, then that nixes any ToS reply

It isnt an open discussion of mods, it is a suggestion to allow them. If another game is able to allow modifications then it isnt a TOS issue if the developer has features to allow that as they gain the permissions needed to do so.
Making a suggestion to have the company integrate measures to allow them and discussion on mods are two TOTALLY different things. To classify them as the same in ANY aspect by ANYONE is asinine and ignorant.
Do not request mods. If there is a feature you like from a mod, you can request that feature instead with a reference to the mod.

I'm glad I'm not the only one in this boat I hope more people feel the same way

It not a MS issue, nor is it a 4J issue.
It is, in fact, a slough of many other issues.

So you see, it's not as easy as you might think.

In the rules, it clearly states
Do not post/request maps, game saves, or any other modification downloads. This is against the Xbox Live Terms of Use and the Sony Entertainment Network Terms of Service. Do not encourage modification and do not discuss modification.
This thread will become locked if you do not stop encouraging modification.

But read sony and microsoft's T+C's and their ToS. Avaliable in the rules sector
Your arguing that talking about suggesting that they allow mods isn't a discussion about mods?
the last sentence says "... And do not discuss mods" it isn't refering to specific mods, it's saying Do Not, at all, discuss mods. At all.
Fall out four isn't even here, so i wouldn't count the chickens until they hatch.
