Just like the title states, Mojang should make multiplayer possible for those without an HD-TV. I don't even know why HD is "required", since it's a "HD" textured game. I mean, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is what I mean. Up to 4 player split-screen, but they don't require an HD-TV for it. They have support for HD, non-HD, and even 3-D TVs! Please Mojang, you need to consider this!
Mojang doesn't work on the console platform (they do the Computer side version only)... you should appeal to 4J Studios instead.
Although, I do have to agree with this sentiment... I originally got Minecraft on the XB360 so I could play with my son on split screen... but I didn't have an HD TV at the time, and found out after purchasing the game... so I ended up purchasing a HD TV and a wall mount only to discover that my older version of XBox 360 didn't have an HD output... so I ended up having to replace that (the previous one suffered a red ring of death issue shortly after that anyway, so no big deal at the time).
Anyway... it turned out to be extremely costly in upgrades just to play a $20 game on split screen, and frankly, I'm not sure why it's mandatory to have HD... sure some text and details would be distorted, but that would be the price for using a lower (standard) definition video output.
