Lol, I can't help but laugh a little because it's basically an xbox or something of the likes (PS4 or something) which already exists and this game can already be played on the TV because of the consoles....
Isn't this forum section for suggesting things for the game, like game play such as new blocks or something... not a new console. Hey the Xbox one is out and is still pretty new so there ya go...that's your new console to play MC with on a TV, which we could already do. BTW this wasn't meant to be mean, I just thought it was a bit funny.
Actually, they specifically want to be able to run on servers and MOD the game... so basically, this is a suggestion for the Java Version run on a basic desktop/laptop/tablet that is running the java Virtual machine and has some sort of standard video output for connecting to televisions...
If what you want are mods and servers, then invest your money in a PC that will run the game... and do a whole bunch more. Developing an exclusive console would not, IMO, be cost effective for most people... so sales would suck... and therefore, it would be a money-loser for the company.
yeah i see your guys point about the sales but it was just a suggestion
Yes, it was a suggestion. When posted in a forum, and especially when requested by the OP, opinions and responses will provide feedback... some of that feedback can be favorable to the suggestions, others, less than favorable... but opinions and feedback will frequently be provided.
What the OP (original poster) meant was that there should be a new gaming console that ONLY allows you to play Minecraft, so that they can add mods and such to the game.
Restricting a new console to just playing Minecraft is not going to magically allow player-created mods on a console. I still don't think it would be economic for a company to produce a console that just plays one game... just to cater to modding on a console.
Modding can be done on a PC and PCs can to be tied into TVs and have game controllers hook into them (my son uses his PC, TV and Xbox controller to play numerous PC games, so I know it can be done). The deterent for some is cost, but if the player-created Minecraft mods are what a player really wants, their money is best invested in a PC high-powered enough to run Minecraft PC Edition well... not in some sort of exclusive console that will only play one game. At least then, the PC can be used for other things as well and it won't just wind up gathering dust whenever the player gets tired of playing Minecraft..

What many people have already stated above is that this venture is not cost-effective for a developer, a potential manufacturer of said "console", and even the consumer. No company would put time/money into such a project when the same result could be achieved with less money spent by:
1. Installing Minecraft onto a PC
2. Modify controls to match Xbox/PS controller inputs
3. (optional) Modify gameplay functions to mimic Console Edition(s)
4. Connect to a TV
5. Play and enjoy
The MSRP for a new "console" that can do this, (to offset R&D costs and still make a reasonable profit), would cost you a lot more than simply using a PC. And now that Dinnerbone has tweeted he plans to change the Enderdragon in 1.9 to behave similarly to the console version, creating a MC-specific console is even less economical.

Let me think about that... an extra $100+ to have another piece of hardware to clutter up my home that is ONLY capable of playing what is equivalent to a $20 game on any other system.... no, I'll pass and continue to play it on the systems that were built for general gaming or computing purposes.
