im creating this thread after the currently locked thread by jambam6762 about "milk".iv been thinking about that. i think you skhould be able to put milk in bottles by crafting a full bucket of milk and 3 empty glass bottles to get 3 bottles of milk(you get your bucket back of course) or u milk a cow with a botle u get one botle of milk. if u milk a moosshroom with botle or craft a stew with a botle u get a botle of mushroom stew( cures half the health of a noormal stew ut is easier to get) .
well itb would give u more milk per bucket, withch is kinda good, for like pvp stuff or fiting witches if (and wen) they get added. its just one of those asthtics things

I agree.
But I don't think it should have to be done with using a bucket first maybe. Because there's no level of efficiency with milk, it's not like potions where there's say Fire Resistance I and II. It's just milk.
So, I like the idea of milk being put in bottles, but I think it should avoid having to go through a process of put in a bucket first, to make three bottles to avoid any "OP" to milk.
However.. it's not like Milk has many purposes as is.. so at the same time I'm open to saying it should be the way the suggester is saying.
There needs to be more of uses for milk for the idea to be fully implemented though in my opinion.
I never carry around milk with me. If I get poisoned I just wait it out, or use a healing potion if I'm in a pinch.
What would be nice is if you could combine milk with a healing potion to get a "panacea" potion that not only restores hearts but also removes any status ailments, too. Not so useful now, but a potential life-saver in the Wither fight.

Well something good about Milk is it also takes off all affects of potions. Good and bad.
Which is good at times. Now that i know that I might consider drinking a bottle or two after I'm done in the Nether, etc and dont' want those annoying bubbles around my head. Or if I want a screen shot I don't have to wait for the affect to wear off.

I am still amazed 4J has still not added an option to turn particle effects off. What are they waiting for?

Because a lot of people would get confused as to whether they have an active potion effect on them as I don't think they'll want to check every 5 seconds to see if the potion is still effecting them. Honestly, I don't really mind the particles, but that's probably because I'm a very tolerant person, something that seems to be becoming an oddity in the world today (this isn't being directed at anybody, really).

Confused? Maybe if they are an 80 year old granny. I think most gamers are going to realize they turned that option off at some point and would be the first place they look to remedy the issue.
I'm a big fan of options. It's there if you want it, but even if you don't no one's forcing you to use it.
Splash potions would be nice, you could use them to remove poison effects from mobs, and will be especially useful after they add the witch and wither.

But a lot of different potions, have the same colour bubbles or whatever coming off of them... So they'd have to open to check anyway.

well wen crafted from a bucket, it multiplies the milk. a little more effort for a little more milk. it could also be helpful against fighting witches(i havent updasted yet and im not sure if they are added yet, but they mite).and the splash potions for online, get ur teem to huddle together and thhrow it down and rid of the bad potion effects. and i think milk adds health becaus you drink it, so it could also fill up some hunger(maybey a bar or a half).

Milk (from a bucket) does not restore hunger or health, it only cancels potion effects and can be used in recipes. So (IMO) the bottled variety shouldn't either.
No witches yet in the current update, they should be coming in the next update.
Since 1 bucket of milk would equal 3 'potions' of bottled milk, I'm ok with it still negating (or even diminishing) the effects of potions, but loosing the ability of being able to be used in recipes.

There are already a dozen or so food items that replenish the food-bar... I don't think milk needs to be added to the list. Especially since it serves its own purpose : negating status effects.
The real debate should be whether or not milk should be used as a brewing ingredient. As an opportunity to add the "negate" ability to other potions or even as a stand-alone potion, as many people have already commented on.
I think it should. Like Junokaii mentioned, milk erases ALL status effects. Therefore, IMO, a milk-health potion is not overpowered as it will also negate any Strength or Speed effects you might have. In other words, its already balanced.

Ok... I'll concede that this is worthwhile when viewed as a potion.
Oh I know.. I hate those things.
They obscure my sight in my opinion.

I do it all the time for that reason.
