There should be an easier way to spawn some of these monsters using spawn eggs. These would be useful in adventure maps or for minigames.
1. Left triggering a spider with a skeleton spawn eggs should create a spider jockey.
2. Left triggering a zombie with a villager spawn egg should make a zombie villager.
3. Left triggering a zombie villager with a zombie egg should spawn a baby zombie villager.
4. There should be a way to spawn charged creepers too. There could be a new spawn egg, or maybe left triggering a creeper with a creeper egg should charge the creeper.
Spawn eggs are pretty much exclusively for a creative mode made map... I think it would be alright to just have separate spawn eggs for those rare MOB instances. that way the map creator could have a more predictable outcome for their map setup.
I think I could win the lottery before I spawn a super charged creeper.
I finally saw one of these in my own game... I soooo... wished I could slap a name tag on it and capture it at the time so it wouldn't despawn, instead I just let it bow itself up in the water.
There are ways to farm charged creepers, but it still requires a lot of patience and a bit of luck.
yeah... it pretty much requires catching them (preferably from a MOB Spawner) and routing them to an area that is prone to lightning strikes... I just never really had the patience for it, as you have to hang around the area and wait for lightning to strike, or they will despawn if you wander too far away. You can even use iron golems to weed out the skeletons and zombies.

I was playing on my ocean biome map...and as often happens, creepers frequently approach from off shore, swimming through the water... this one in particular had a particle effect going around it that looked like a charge or a force field... randomly generated... totally not planned. So making sure it detonated in the water was no real challenge, considering that 95% of the surface of the map is water. But lightning storms are pretty frequent on that map, so I'm not surprised that a creeper eventually got struck by lightning.
Hrmm... instead of all this mucking about trying to target X MOB with Y Spawn Egg... why not just have separate spawn eggs for zombie villagers, spider jockeys, charged creepers, etc. like we are going to have for mules and donkeys.
Also... if there were a way to pre-select sheep color of the sheep spawn eggs in creative...
My rationale is that most maps that would make use of spawn eggs would likely use dispensers and redstone which makes a lot of these wierd combinations more complex than they need to be.

I prefer this idea over the original so...
support.

I say maybe they should just add a chance for those to happen when you're holding those eggs.. as opposed to a whole new feature.
Though it would be.. a bit Ironic to get the chicken spawn egg from a chicken egg after enchanting it. Lol

How'd you manage that?
