I have a few ideas for new potions, and changes to existing potions:
My first idea is for a potion of hunger. It is brewed from a price of rotten flesh. The potion will give the hunger effect, and drain away their hunger meter. If you add a fermented spider eye, it will change into a potion of filling, which will restore the hunger meter. The hunger potion will have a dull yellow-green color, and the filling potion will be bright yellow.
My next idea is for a potion of nausea, brewed from a brown mushroom. It will give the player nausea, causing their screen to shift and bend (As if the player sent through a nether portal, but without the purple) The potion would be a green-gray color.
Changes to existing potions:
Adding a fermented spider eye will now make a potion of blindness, instead of a potion of invisibilty.
Invisibilty potion can now be brewed from a purple mushroom, found in the end (Inspired by the purple mushrooms in this post: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-xbox-360-edition/mcx360-suggestions/2169641-a-peaceful-end ) Adding a fermented spider eye will create a potion of visibility. The visibilty potion will make the player, and any mobs nearby, to light up as if they were on fire. They would be seen through darkness.
I doubt that 4J will entertain a negative suggestion too much (ie. remove something that already exists in the game that is also a part of the mainstream 'vanilla' Java Minecraft as put out by Mojang AB). That being said, it is unlikely that the recipe of the invisibility potion will be radically changed from what it currently is.

Otherwise, interesting ideas.
It would be like changing a crafting recipe. But I can see what the problem is. Not all players go to the end right away, or can't go to the end.
