Now Minecraft Computer has stuff like mods and shaders and more of that But Xbox 360 version Has a lowered amount of privileges. But why? Xbox is totally Able to add mods and online maps! Or was I wrong with the mods? Anyway Why? Am I being a dummy here cause this is my first post so yeah. My friend on Xbox 360 live Livvsaii Said that he will get crazy craft a populer mod pack made by TheAtlanticCraft. And he did'int. I mean wow umm Think about it We need shaders mods and mod packs and ummm more of that so add it in if you can maybey Mods and that other stuff will be on Xbox One or PS4 I don't know so see u later viewers
in order to write mods on the PC, the users have to get into the code. (im not sure how any of that works after that, but thats the basic concept) microsoft doesnt let players do this. players DO this sometimes, using outside methods which are against the terms of agreement. so in theroy, xbox DOES have mods, there just not legal, and i advise against using them.
the second, andONLY fesable method for which minecraft xbox edition could have mods, is for 4j studios to make some sort of modding program. the simple method would be to show you the code, and you can edit it from there. this would be simple only for 4jstudios, and would likely be something that a majority of players would have to go youtube in order to learn how to do what they need to. i doubt this would happen because its not user friendly, and who knows what mischift could insue.
the other option that 4j could impliment is to make the program so that it is in effect an editor to the game. basicly, go look up project spark, which is a game on xbox one in which the entire game is editing things, and thus creating your own game. this would likely have a somewhat limited option on what you can modify in the game, and would take alot of 4j's time, time which i would rather them spend on making new things for the core game so that i can play something made by profesionals.
could they? sure.
will they? i hope not.
how about adventure mode? that would be fun for all.and a hell of a lot easyer.
But Xbox 360 is totally able! And I expected more NICE replies
This is a redunadant topic (Meaning lots of people have already suggested it), and they usually get negative feedback. The Xbox is completely capable, but there's a reason that mods, shaders and file sharing hasn't been added yet:
1. Mods are agaisnt Microsoft and Sony policies. I would hate to have to pay for dlc 'mods' too. Why pay for something when it can be added for everyone to play?
2. Shaders can cause lag, and are really buggy anyways.
3. File sharing is suggested daily. Its a good idea, but its a redundant topic. (Btw, this is the third time today where I've seen somebody suggest it)
Some tips for future posts: Search the forums to see if somebody has already posted it. If they have, support that post instead. And take some time to learn about the Xbox policy. Mods and world shares are not allowed, and you can get in trouble for talking about them.
Sorry to shoot your ideas down. I don't like doing that to people who are new to the forums. Good luck with your other posts though, and keep in mind what I said.
To add to what was said above.... outside of legal issues with the console manufacturers...
Minecraft for consoles is written in C++, unlike Java (that Minecraft for the computer market uses), C++ is not psuedo-compiled to a byte code that is fairly easily de-compiled, but rather is fully compiled. If Player Modding were allowed at all, you would still have to do your modding on a PC/MAC (or some other non-console programming environment) AND, you would very likely have to be supplied with the original un-compiled C++ code and not try and work from the executable as it is shipped to the end user. It is MUCH harder to effectively mod the Console version than it is to mod the computer version from a coding standpoint.

That's true. I forgot about that.
Yeah, so you can't just port mods over to the xbox. You would have to re-write the code, then port the skins over too. And frankly, 4j just doesn't have time to do that. And even if they had someone else make a 'mod' for them, it would still take a while to look over them mod, and check for bugs. Then it would have to be sent into cert testing. So it could take up to 6 months for a mod to be made, and I would rather just play with features ported from the pc.
No, we do not.
If you aren't happy with what we have, then go play the PC version.
Mods are not coming to the 360 version--not now, not ever.
Stay fluffy~
