The current minecraft terrain is nice, but could use some small improvements. Things like boulders, patches of dirt and small bushes can really spice up the land. Here's what I'm thinking:
In forests: Cobblestone boulders, fallen trees and small clumps of bushes
In deserts: Areas of sandstone
In mountains: Spruce trees, mosstone boulders, and patches of gravel
Those are just a few ideas, if anyone has other ideas, feel free to share them
Doesn't the PE or something have fallen trees?
I'm all for the fallen trees and pine trees, but I'm not entire sure how the rest would actually look.
Piles of stone laying on the ground seem odd.
Yes, I get it, boulders and rocks, but they won't look as good as I'm trying to imagine just because of the squareness of them.
I don't exactly understand the sandstone one and the gravel can already be seen in the walls or in a basin on a mountain.

Okay, I guess we can leave the deserts and mountains alone. Most biomes are okay the way they are. Its the forests that need a little more to them.
I like the mega taiga biones from 1.7 on pc. They've got boulders, and patches of dirt, grass and podzol. Not that forests would need all of that, but it would be nice to see the ocasional fallen tree, or cluster of rocks, or anything, rather than just trees.

I can agree with this one.
Cause often I see those little 'dead trees' in the desert... so... perhaps some more miscellaneous things like these in places like forests come make the game a bit more interesting in a sense.
I'd like to see some sandstone riverbeds, as if a river had dried up. They could even connect to rivers from other biomes.
Gravel River Beds too... and if there is something in the world generator that inserts river beds (like dungeons, chasms, villages and such), there could also be something that determines if they should be filled with ('running') water, or just 'dry' river beds.

That's a good idea actually.

I'm actually somewhat fond of this idea too...
