I think that the MineCraft player should have the option to have a "classic crafting" available to them (MineCraft PC crafting format). Please tell me your opinion about this down below.
I'd support it as an option (since I generally support more options).... but I honestly think it would be a wasted effort since the vast majority of console gamers probably wouldn't bother with it voluntarily - for the reasons already stated above and because it just feels like a step backward. 4J did a great job designing the crafting interface on the Xbox 360 and not having to learn all the crafting recipes just really helps with getting right into the game quicker when one is just starting out with it.

^ Agreed
Trust me, you probably wound NOT want to use the PC crafting system. It's rather difficult to figure out on your own how to craft items. When I first started Minecraft on the PC, I have had to look up on youtube how to craft certain items.

No.
This is not needed. Why add a option to make crafting harder? Even though it's optional, I don't really see a purpose.

Well, it would definitely help for all those overly complaining that the game is way too easy (And unfortunately I'm inclined to agree with them a bit).
It would give some more 'adventure' to the game for sure.

I respect your opinion, but I don't see how this would fix the game being way too easy. I can understand it would add a little challenge, but nothing to really increase the difficulty of the game, especially once you've memorized the recipes for different items. If people are looking for more of a challenge, they should look up community challenges that have been created to make the game more interesting. I don't personally know of any of these challenges, but I guarantee there are some out there.

I doubt it would do anything to quell those complaining that the game isn't hard enough. It does nothing to make the game harder... it just makes crafting more laborous... and boosts hits on the Wiki pages.

Well for one thigns would take longer.... You'd have to remember how to do things... And yeah, they would get more visits probably.. But that still doesn't mean they don't have to remember to make sure it's placed in the 9 squares properly. Not much different than going to school and referencing an online source to do what you need to do.

I did say it would make it more laborous... and what you're describing boils down to just being more laborous. Perhaps a person should have to also decrypt a random puzzle before being able to open the crafting table... or do what one of the Minecraft clones does... you have to find the "recipe" somewhere in the world before you're able to craft the item at all.
Lol just reading through all this makes me laugh a little... oh xbox nubs you have no idea how much harder the pc is and when even the option of making the game even a bit harder you complain and say it is a horrible idea because you are too lazy to do it or learn the recipes.

Yeah I have played the PC version since the beginning of Beta and then I started to play the XBox version and it was so much easier. I always liked to learn the recipes.

You have the assumption that everyone who posts here plays the console edition and the console edition alone.
There's a difference between laziness and needing to do something unnecessary.
I'm sure you'd be whining if you were forced to play on the PC using a controller and had to drag everything around at a fixed speed.

Still, I wouldn't bother with it myself... as a person gets old like me, forgeting things becomes more of an issue. I'd rather not try to stuff my mind with memorized crafting recipes and keep the mental space available for more important things... like remembering where I put my glasses. I'd also rather stay 'in the game" instead of having to jump out and read the Wiki to get the recipe whenever I thought of something I want to craft that I don't do frequently.
I believe that it is not needed. Of course, if you really want it, it can be added as an option, as you said. I just wouldn't know why you would want it. It won't make the game harder, just more of a pain. Just play on Hard mode every time if you want your difficulty fix.

Just 'cause my name's MasterHalo, don't expect me to be GOOD at Halo.
Maybe an option to toggle it on or off but I would have to agree with the majority of these people that it would be a bad idea and I would never turn it on if they did make it an option. However, there probably are people out there with enough patience that they would turn it on and use it all the time. The option could be in Help and Options-Settings-Controls-Manual Crafting-On or Off.

The crafting system we have was made specifically so we would not have to waste our time dragging and dropping items like on the PC.
Stay fluffy~

No support
The processes, and just making multiples of those processes would be the biggest pain in the **** ever
