I don't understand why you can't just have it be like.... once you find a music disc you just throw it in.. and it can hold a maximum of however many discs there are in this game (That way you can have each unique disc in there at once with no switching) and it just automatically plays the songs that you have in there.
Whether that's having Every song in there, or having even just 1 or 2 songs.
Just have them all play, and keep going until it reaches the last disc and when it stop you go press play again. Or I guess just have it keep playing like an actual record player (pretending here that every disc acts as one record)
Help give a solution to the never ending one song that this game has played/plagued me with since it's launch.
Nice idea..... perhaps they can have albums, which when put in a jukebox, play more than one song? ex: Album 1 has songs: 13, cat, blocks. Album 2 has songs: chirp, far, mall. etc...
I support the idea, but I don't really think that its needed

Nah it isn't really needed. It's just music changes I wouldn't mind.. It's just one of those annoyances I think are in the game that I wouldn't mind be at least changed a bit....
It'd be nicer than just listening to the same song loop forever.
I wouldn't mind Chirp among a few others.
With the exception to that black broken disc that sounds like the recording of someone getting murdered.
This is to continue what I was talking about with DarthPOP in this thread:
I don't remember us having a discussion but i totally agree. Especially since i spend about 1/10 of all my minecraft time going back to the jukebox and putting "where are we now" in again.

I remember it being very brief conversation. I think you said that jukeboxes should have infinite distance.
How about add your own music that way you play a cd on your end and your friends here it too
Well I often do listen to my own music.. But if I'm playing a game, I do often like to listen to the music that the game has.
But I can't really do that... if it's the SAME song that just loops forever. After a while it becomes background noise... then it just becomes annoying.

I agree. I hate listening to music outside the game because then i can never hear the game. I can deal with halo and skyrim and all that good stuff that has the music fit the situation but minecraft just has one song.
What if they made the music fit the situation? Say your farming: it plays calm music. Say you just found a mineshaft: plays intense music. Say you are in the middle of a zombie raid: plays battle music... See what i mean?
I'm of the opinion that Jukeboxes need a complete overhaul.
-Add a GUI with 12 slots and a "disable slot" feature so you can create custom playlists.
-Jukebox responds to a redstone signal. Continuous signal = continuous play, going from track to track then repeating. Otherwise, a RS pulse, such as from a button, would play just one track and the jukebox would stop. (That's my thoughts on it, at least. What are yours?)
-Jukeboxes should have no range restrictions. The disc music should just supersede the normal music track.

This is not really an issue if you tweak the in-game volume settings and the Xbox Music Player volume.

This would require more than just a jukebox reboot. My thoughts are if Mojang doesn't write the code for the PC first it won't come to the consoles. Sad, but probably true.
You would simply click it and a menu would pop up with a 4x4 grid. you would place each disk in and those are the disks that will play.
There would also be two buttons: One would switch between shuffle and ordered, The other would switch between repeating or not repeating.
The final thing would be a button that when selected, lets you toggle witch disks would play and witch wouldn't. Simply click the button again to exit out of toggle mode.

How would the game handle 2 Jukeboxes from 2 different (or the same player) if they were both playing at the same time?
I think that could get really annoying if the distances were infinite in this regard unless consideration was given on how this issue would be handled of 2 or more songs playing simultaneously.
I like the idea of using jukeboxes as a storage device for records, as well as the method of playing them. After all, a jukebox - in the typical definition anyway - should be able to store multiple records and play any of them at a press of a button. It would certainly solve the issue of wasted storage; there's no point in having records stored anywhere else when you think that records can't be stacked. That means having 1 copy of each record takes up almost half of a single chest.
I would like to see the idea of creating a playlist in the jukebox as well; storing the records in the jukebox in a specific order would allow you to either choose one to play individually, loop a single one, randomise the current playlist, or just play them all in sequential order. I can see why people have said it's a waste of time, and pointless to even consider because it's far from a major issue in the game, but it's little touches like that which make you think the developers have thought about the average player.

I'd love that.

Love this idea, and totally agree. (+1)
