I posted a thread like this a couple of months back, but apparently, since nobody really thought into what I was describing, they decided not to support it.
I'm remaking the thread and giving more detail on how this suggestion would be. Also, I've added a second idea.
Idea #1:
Currently, in the game, obviously, when you sleep, the screen fades out and it instantly skips to morning. However, while this idea wasn't thought of by me, it's more of an inspiration from the Somnia mod in the PC version. In the Somnia mod, when you sleep, the world still continues, but you can speed up time and watch everything around you continue either fast or normally. I was thinking that both PC and Xbox versions of the game should have this as an official feature [though I wonder if 4J even adds mods as features], so we could still experience the night if we wished without day instantly coming to us. Of course, like many people here on these forums, I can tell this idea won't get any support. I'm surprised I even suggested it.
Idea #2:
In the game, you are greeted with the occasional Creeper, Skeleton, Zombie, Spider, and Enderman, and only at night. However, what if someone wanted to play and survive in a world full of just Creepers who only come out during the day instead? Or play against Skeletons only? Or maybe just survive the Zombie apocalypse by having only zombies spawn all the time? Or maybe feel like Robert Neville and survive in an I Am Legend style world with fast zombies that only come out at night?
This is what this idea contains. The idea is that next to the extra world options, we are given a set of Mob Options. These options would allow us to alter the speeds, damage, spawning rates, spawning times, and others of the Mobs. If you wanted to play in a world with just Zombies and Skeletons, you could simply go to the Mobs section and click on both of them. If you wanted Creepers only, just click "Creeper." If you wanted Zombies, click "Zombies." For all, just go to the bottom and click "All."
For example, let's say I wanted to survive in a world with zombies that act like the infected in I Am Legend. It would look something like this:
Damage To Objects [Durability different depending on Difficulty]:
None Doors Windows Blocks Fences All
This isn't all of the options, but just about all of them. This is the general idea of this suggestion.
There are several people out there who play Minecraft, but maybe want to play with different options in order to give the game more replay value and have different experiences. We all know that the game will get boring doing the same occasional thing every now and then. How amazing would it be to play in the zombie apocalypse with zombies that can break through doors and windows or to see how long you could survive against Skeletons and Creepers that spawn all the time and can break through every structure you build?
In my opinion, it would be a great way to give the game more replay value and make experiences more fun, not to mention some people out there can play their maps the way they want them to be played: Their way, rather than always the same old, same old.
Hopefully the people who gave no support in the past now understand what I was describing. That's a positive saying.
Even when they're detailed, having two different suggestions in one topic is a no-no.
It may be more burdensome to create two topics, but rules are rules.
Too much to quote, too little needing responses.
Idea #1: So...do what now, watch everything go insanely fast as you sleep with a faded screen? It'd be interesting...but I don't see a point.
Idea #2: Would this feature disable leaderboards or not? As far as I can see, this could potentially be Peaceful in Hard mode.
I'm all for it except the Spider Jockey...those are technically a derivative of spiders (and I believe skeleton) and should stay rare. Getting 10 is an achievement; having 150 of those in 10 minutes...yeah...no.

Its an interesting idea. i don't quite see the point in the idea regarding beds though as it does not serve any purpose to be honest. The idea regarding mob options is very interesting though, but perhaps a new game type on the difficulty setting should be made for this. similar to the way in which we change the difficulty, there could be an "arcade mode" setting that allows you to use the mob options. That way the leaderboards are not affected and normal survival cannot be made easier by having rare mobs spawn frequently or their mechanics changed.
i cant quite see people useing these settings for a survival world really as the main focus in survival is finding a place to set up and mobs are only a concern until a basic fence is built to keep them out. I can see great potential in this idea for players who make zombie apocolypse maps on creative and test them out, then try them on survival in multiplayer with friends.
I like the ideas. The bed idea isn't needed though. I love the second idea, but it would have to be in a certain game mode, or disable achievements, because you wouldn't really be playing legit if you can control what spawns, etc.
Locked. Please do not post more than one suggestion per thread. Very closely related suggestions are fine, but separate suggestions require separate threads.
