Okay so i was thinking about making a story mode in minecraft where you could interact with the villagers and they would tell you things and give you quests. i was going to make this with signs next to them but i relized this would take hundreds of signs. so i thought that there should be speech bubbles that you could change and when you clicked on them it would pop up. even little dialogue options so you could create your own life and stuff. I think this would be great for people who like creating adventure/rpg's in the game.
Unfortunately, that's why we have signs...kind of.
To accommodate for the massive amount of signs that my second adventure map needs, I put a sign labelled with a number at each location. The player would then go to the corresponding location in a Rich Text document (or have me read it).
It's a lot better than signs and bubbles since it allows coloured texts, sized fonts, different fonts, and the ability to insert the player's name to add a more personal level to the map.

could you please explain this? not sure i understand because im talking about making it then going back in by myself or with one other friend and doing it. i just think if the villager talked to you right then and there it would be much less time consuming.

You can change the colour and font on a sign? How?

No-no, the signs simply say, "Note [number]," which you then look up in the Rich Text document provided to you via Dropbox.
The document has different colours and fonts, not the signs.

Probably, but that's about all it's good for, and has essentially no use in a regular survival world.
And no, villagers giving you quests in a regular survival is not something I'll support.
Seems as If this is another attempt to add something storyline-ish to minecraft.
Well, I suppose why not I guess.... I mean... our character's are human and so are the villagers (hopefully...) and I personally doubt we'd be able to do whatever as people without some means of communication. Unless we're all mutes who pass notes to eachother to talk or have telepathy >.>
okay i would like to say yes it is exactly to put quests and a story line, BUT you make it and have your friends play it and see how they like it. kinda like if you are a game designer or something, you could test out the basic story.

You realize that's the point of an adventure map, right?
I personally think speech bubbles for players without a mic would be a useful idea. That way they wouldn't have to take the time to open the XB menu, select the player they want to message, send the message, and then get back into the game. If players could use speech bubbles, they'd be able to just type something in and whoever was near them could see what they are saying. Or better yet, they could add a transparent dialogue box to the hud.

You know you can create adventure maps on the Xbox 360? It's not just for PC. Oh and yes I know what section I am in.
