I have new ideas to add. Weapons that can only be dropped by mobs, like nether maces that start fire, and enderstaffs that teleport enemies away like knock back.

for the crossbow make the bolts non-renewable ( because with it being more accurate and powerful it needs to have some down side) other than that i support all but the guns

If the bolts are non renewable then how would you get any?
We're you suggesting non retrievable? This might make sense as they might destroy themselfs on impacts or something.

guns fit more into the time period of Minecraft than bows do. TNT came out mid 1800's and archery seemed ancient by then. Matchlock guns seemed ancient by then, so guns definitely fit better into the time period. Also, I have some more ideas. You know the dremora churls from oblivion? There should be a mob similar to that, only it can only spawn on nether brick in the nether, and it drops some weapon that cannot be crafted. Also, zombie pigmen should drop their butter sword. Just to give you some back up in the fight, in case your sword breaks.

Since we pretty much agree on muskets, blunderbuss, crossbows and flintlock pistols ( and everybody else is agreeing to disagree )
Why not discuss what melee weaponry we want?
I would want...
Double sided axes.
Spears (maybe acting more as the javelins from Balkons and let us throw them further?)
Halberds.
Claymores.
Daggers. (should swing faster than swords but less damage)
Mauls / warhammers.
Maces and clubs.
Flails. (as I have recently decided that I do rather like the way it works on Balkons weapon mod.)
Lances (if we ever get horses)
And also shields (equipable in the armour slot and is taken off back when a weapon or hand is out so that you can block with it.)
I believe that list to be a pretty good spread around most melee weapons.
It would also be great if the weapon models are different.
Like a wood mace would be a big ol caveman club.
As weapons get to iron they get slimmer and resemble how weapons got lighter stronger and more damaging.
A few mixed grade weapons shields and armour would be nice.
Specifically round wooden shields with iron reinforcements.
Or the same for leather armour with iron reinforcements.
Forgot to mention slings, made with string and leather, when you charge them they swing around.
Slings would not be terribly damaging but be very cheap to fire and make at early stages of the game.
Did I mention Im getting excited.
I'm making a castle and I just filled a barracks with chests with equipment for specific soldiers incase I feel a PVP battle arising.
I even have a field hospital infront of my castle and my imagination is running wild thinking of all the cool medieval battles that could go on.

I like your ideas with the melee weapons, I just don't want to be overwhelmed by mobs anymore. With the muskets, we should at least get a setting for them.
There have been so many times I have been overwhelmed by endermen. Have you been shooting arrows at a player that was swerving and you could not hit them? I feel the same way. I just want to drop my bow in lava, pull out a blunderbuss, and blow his frigging brains out. See, this is what I can't stand about Xbox Live Arcade. Everyone has to have the EXACT same copy of the game, an if yours is modded, you can get in trouble. I so wish we could mod it to get muskets. I might get it on OUYA just because I can mod it, and if we were, which we should be able to, it will be a big giant middle finger in Micro$oft's frigging face, how not every company cares about modding. I don't understand why we can't mod. It is probably because people will take advantage of it, and use it in multiplayer. Like, come on Microsoft! I just want to have some fun with the game! Or, at least give 4J a waiver so we can have fun with the game by having the game be what we want it to be because how 4J wants the game is probably not what we want the game to be. I hope my little thirty second speech makes a difference.

Atleast on the surface at night.
Maybe not so much on easy, but a few more on normal without them being as tough, and hard mode should literally get hordes of mobs.
I think I might also make a fighting arena with spawn eggs in dispensers.
Set by slow 4 tick clocks.
I do find fighting mobs can be a lot of fun and I'm sure it would be even more so with more weapons.

I have found it less fun when the game is literally throwing everything it possibly can at you, and you are defenseless. I don't wear armor because it is too expensive and I am not a wimp.

I always seem to be able to afford iron armour.
And ATM I'm crafting my first legitimate set of diamond because I have over a stack of them with my trusty fortune Pickaxe.

1 more Enderpearl and 2 more armour enchantments.
