It seems complicated and stupid. New weapon type: katana. Do less damage, but last longer. I hate those people who think katana blades do more damage than longswords because that goes against physics. Katana blades are not only single bladed weapons, compared to the longsword's double blade, it is lighter. If they were equally as sharp, the longsword would hit the target with more momentum, therefore dealing more damage. Please tell me you agree.

The whole point of this forum is so the two editions can be different. Bow's firepower can't stop a creeper, nor can an unenchanted sword. Thi is my reasoning. Also, you are only half right about PC. There are mods for it.

Also, why do kills give XP then. If it was about what you said, crafting a diamond pick would give you XP but it does not.

But before they went into war they must have had something worth fighting for.
Every nation on earth was built just like you build things in minecraft.
They continue to advance and then start thinking about their own defence.
They would be really awesome for death matches aswell.

One thing I think would also be cool about flintlock pistols is what the pirates did with them.
They had about four holsters for pistols and could fire a single shot from each pistol.
This is why I would like it but maybe have him cock the hammer when drawing the pistol for more balance.

I want to make a mention to people that think firearms don't belong in minecraft.
Well I think that periodically they fit right in.
If we look at something in minecraft like TNT for example.
TNT was not made untill the mid 1800's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinitrotoluene
Now if we look at when flintlock firearms were made we see they fit in around the early 1700's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flintlock
If you still think that 150 years is a blurry line then older firearms like matchlock were around as early as the 1500's
So yes they fit very well into the time setting of minecraft.
They're balanced because of reload times and material cost to make and fire.
And there could always be a option to disable them if you despise them.

What about redstone and electricity? That was not discovered until late 1700's and by then, bows already looked ancient by comparison to firearms. In Minecraft, bows are weak and ancient. We need something better. They are balanced because they are not all that durable either. Like I said before. We could have a multi purpose anvil that does what the PC anvil does, and a 4x4 crafting grid. This 4x4 grid could be used to make bigger and stronger weapons and flintlock weapons. Muskets would be WAY stronger than bows because musket balls hit the target with more momentum than an arrow does, therefore dealing more damage. Speaking of time setting, I don't know when the game takes place, but sometime post apocalyptic. Think about it. There are zombies everywhere, and with the exception of up to eight friends, you are the only one.
The time setting must be pretty recent because people have made frigging computers. Computers did not come out until fairly recently, and by then, there were rocket launchers and assault rifles and machine guns.
Did we ever say this was to be Xbox exclusive? No we did not! Also, I heard Mojang say No Guns, so that rules you PC players out and still gives us a chance to get it.
I think the idea of red stone is an alternative to electricity though.

But still it is very advanced compared to a simple chemical reaction propelling a metal ball at very high speeds.

Which reminds me of something they could add ballistas for those of you who don't know what that is it is basically a giant crossbow with two varieties a stationary one usually mounted on top of a wall and a mobile one attached to a giant cart sort of like a catapult

You should be able to turn them off if you hate the idea, but I LOVE the idea. Maybe if you get hit by it, it will almost kill you, and if it hits a block, it will destroy the block it hit. Obviously except gold blocks, iron blocks, diamond blocks, and obsidian.Cannons should have to be made on a 6x6 grid.
If the anvils have 4x4 would you just beef it to six or have something more advanced for 6x6?
What if you put a anvil next to a coldroun then put lava in the coldroun and it becomes a forge where you can make even more advanced materials?
It's a pretty ambitious idea but What do you think.
Maybe it would work like when you put two chests next to each other and change the look of it all.
With tools lying on top and stuff.
