Not necessarily; The ender dragon fight is a very long fight that requires weapons and so it can be somewhat linked to this topic. We are just talking about how unsatisfying the fight is.

Not necessarily; how unsatisfying the fight is has very little to do with weapons, it's more along the lines of Bosses and Enderdragons. If you want to discuss improving the ender dragon, you should discuss it here
They should add a knife that has less attack range and dmg but allows you to appear as if you are not holding an item. And maybe allow hits to stack for faster attack speed. Not that I support any of this topic lol

Hmmm. I like it. Should be its own kind of knife though.
This has to happen for every edition. I was just playing on a server, and this guy came to me wearing full diamond. For every time he hit me I hit him ten times and he still won. These combat mechanics SUCK! They are frigging terrible. Please fix this Mojang/4J It is completely about who has the better equipment and not at all about skill. Someone wearing iron should be able to beat someone wearing diamond. I cannot express enough about how little effort was put into these combat mechanics. Fortunately there is room for improvement. At the minimum it would probably require its own update. That would be one update well spent. What is the point of playing on a server if someone with better equipment can just come to you and kill you at there discretion? There would be some ways to improve this. Things like:
-The better the sword your opponent has, if you parry their attack, it will recoil them more than a weaker sword.
-The better the armor you have, the slower you run.
These two new mechanics would make combat much more enjoyable and more rewarding. It would also give people with lesser stuff a chance at winning a fight with someone with better stuff.

I can see where you're coming from but I disagree. Minecraft is about mining and exploring and crafting. While I agree that PvP does need some changes, the ones you suggested would severely change the way Minecraft works. That and iron is pretty common and diamond is pretty rare, so there should be a fairly large gap in between the two. Oh and not to ruin your idea but Iron is heavier than diamonds IRL.

Oh hey. Looks like you're reading my signature. That's nice. If you thought I was going to put something funny here, I'm not. I will however put a link to my suggestion about gold tools. I think it's fairly popular. It would be nice if it was added. Just click the link and look at it. Please? I'm desperate. http://www.minecraft...-arent-useless/

Iron being heavier doesn't really matter. This game needs a significant change with how pvp works so three new mechanics should be acceptable.

Ok but what you're suggesting is nerfing diamonds. I think that they are hard enough to find that you should be rewarded properly. I think the PvP system does need a little work but this is not the way to do it.

I think full armour needs a slowing factor, iron armour in my opinion is as easy to get as leather.
So leather should allow you to move faster than others.
maybe have lighter, half armour options like a breastplate, heavier full face helmet.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.

Come on. Even you should agree that no one should win a fight purely because they had better equipment. That is just absurd.Even in CoD it is not like that. It is who saw the other first. Still a crappy system but better than Minecraft's. Minecraft's should be more skill based. Minecraft should be more like halo where you can win even if you have crappier stuff and they saw you first.

On my PC world, I have almost a double chest full of iron without any use for it.
Armor should also slightly do that thing that the pumpkin does, limiting your field of view. You want to be invincible? guess what? you are going to have a smaller field of view and you are going to run much slower.

As much as I feel your pain for PvP reasons... I don't play multiplayer, and I would not want to see these slowing and vision limitations impacting me in my solo play.
There are other less drastic game impacting ways to help balance it out without gimping the solo-play or cooperative play experience. such as looking at revamping the cap on Armor Protection Factor, or modifying the sliding scale to 3% per APF/EPF point instead of the current of 4% capped at 25 (for 100% damage reduction).

I agree with Kain that it needs improvements, but not the ones that you are suggesting.

Actually, in call of duty, its not only who saw the player first, but also the guns and perks come in handy. And decision making is also important.
I feel that if you really want to decrease movement speed and decrease the view, it should only happen under these circumstances:
