I like the idea of longswords. Maybe they can be crafted with 4 other swords. For example, an iron longsword would be crafted with 4 iron swords, etc.
I feel we need some images on how some of these weapons would look. For example, to shoot with your firearm (gun), would there be a zoom in option by pushing Left Trigger/Right Trigger? Or would the player aim with there cursor without have to zoom in? I would personally like you to aim with the curson.

Scopes and automatic weapons were not proposed, and I feel that they would detract from the overall feel of Minecraft in general. I do support the older model ideas of flintlock firearms (we already have flint, and gunpowder, and iron). I don't think a zoom option should be included.

I don't think a zoom option should be added either. I was just asking if there was a zoom option or not.

I'm not exactly sold on the idea of guns in Minecraft. I mean, Minecraft, as a VERY vague rule, is set in the Medieval Era. This is of course extremely flexible because we have things like daylight sensors but still... The model Minecraft world is one where a central castle controls a large area where each player has set up a home and trades things with other players. This is my fantasy world but like I said before guns seem a little out of place, even if they are just muskets. That's what mods are for. However, I am all for the Anvil-Expanded Crafting Table idea, plus more weapons. I don't think a crossbow would be to out of place either. Not so sure about magic though. Shields could go either way.

Oh hey. Looks like you're reading my signature. That's nice. If you thought I was going to put something funny here, I'm not. I will however put a link to my suggestion about gold tools. I think it's fairly popular. It would be nice if it was added. Just click the link and look at it. Please? I'm desperate. http://www.minecraft...-arent-useless/

I couldn't agree more that the general genre is set roughly around the times of the middle ages with swords bows and castles and such... In fact, I'm inclined to say that it is closest to high medieval, around the time of the 3 Musketeers and any of various Pirate themes from roughly the 1400s to roughly the 1700s...
Of course...High Medieval does allow for primitive firearms.... and cannons....

Very true, but the idea of guns in Minecraft just doesn't seem to make sense to me. I mean cannons maybe because they can be made with TNT and redstone and such but the idea of shooting a zombie with a musket? Like I said it just rubs me the wrong way. As for the time period I would be willing to go back even farther and say that it was during the 1100's to the 1500's.

What about TNT? Huh? That was invented in the 1800's. Fight that.
Like I said in my original post, it is VERY vague. BTW, gunpowder was invented and being used as bombs by the Chinese before the 1200's.

Yeah, I agree. If it's not a fighting game, why do they have monsters, swords, and bosses?
Yeah it would.

But TNT wasn't invented in the 1200's, it was invented in 1863. Chinese invented fireworks in that time - I think.

No problem.
I usually hate history, but it sometimes comes in handy...
