Yay I actually got support for that idea, and I was just joking!
It annoys me that they didn't add some actual guns from ME with that mash up pack.
They just retextured the bow? Why not arrows aswell, I mean you'd expect that in a player texture pack for PC not an official 4J made game expansion pack.
If they were actually doing new weapons and stuff I would really like a medieval and WW2 pack.
You could easily base them off movies or other games and add some iconic characters.

Are you kidding? That is the exact same thing I am complaining about! I said they should have added some guns from the game too. Next thing you know they are going to make a halo mash up and retexture the bow so it looks like a needler but still shoots like the bow, and it will still be called the bow too.

I shouldn't say this, but what's the point of buying a mash pack when the trial pretty much give you access to just about every thing. (excluding skin's and world saves) Most the people I know are going to build on default then host a space game or whatever with the pack. Hmm.....This actually works out great.

It would be cool if there were different weapons, like spears which would have a greater reach or flails that would do more damage,but you would have to balance it out so now if those weapons were implemented you would have to have zombies with swords and spears or what ever, and skeletons with flails. but yah different weapons would be awsome. I dont think muskets and guns and sheilds should be involved. guns i feel would ruin minecraft because I think of minecraft like medevil times guns are to modern for minecraft, I like the cross bow thing though. i dont like the sheild because protection 4 armor, you cant die until your armor breaks or if you fall from like block limit.

New idea in mind. Sword thrusting. Against armor, hitting them wont do much it is thrusting that penetrates armor. Dont know how this can be implemented , but you can think about it.
And guns will conflict with religious people playing and if you had guns it would be pointless i mean hey creeper boom your dead i canot agree with adding guns everything else awesome
The mechanism is very simple and they were invented long before tnt and pistons. Your argument is invalid. You have to reload after every shot and it takes a long time for it to reload.Everyone on this forum has used the exact same invalid argument, please change up the arguments so I dont keep repeating myself

I like the idea overall, but maybe if they do the anvil crafting thing, you can only craft tools stone and above with anvils? But the only way I usually die on there is when I'm building and a creeper comes up behind me, or I end up in water with a skeleton, (I hate it when they keep knocking you back.) So I don't understand how having more weapons would fix those problems.

Well, nobody can fix the creeper problem, wearing armour and reacting quickly helps.
But for that pesky skeleton, keep a loaded pistol in your hotbar, as soon as you realise what's happening pull it out and one hit him.
Or spears which might help you with better melee distance.
I have an idea to make muskets and spears unique, like in history they had armed massive units with the same sort of weapons most noticibly spearmen and Musketeers.
So make these weapons reasonably cheap to make it more realistic for a cheaply armed group go spears and muskets to balance for being cheaper the enchantments should be less powerful, if the muskets get enchantments at all.

I just had a thought... For TNT and muskets maybe occasionally a villager might sell to you a set of blueprints which you could read to unlock a new crafting recipe.
I think it would be cool to actually have a progressive system where you might be stuck with bows before going straight to explosives and muskets, maybe just have a flintlock mechanism unlock-able.
They should be cost several emeralds like 8 or so.

I dunno I'd like to see this with better villages that sort of advance thought the ages aswell.
If Minecraft was slightly slower paced it would be great.
Maybe villagers could have a soldier type.
The population of a village should come down to houses and farm.
Villages could expand and occasionally would have a war, however they should never completely extinguish another villages population.
They should stop advancing when they have forts and lever action rifles, giving a Wild West feel where they have settlements centred around old forts.
The armour should still work Ned Kelly style for you Australians out there.
For a village to survive it needs farmers for food, and soldiers for defence including the iron golems, they should advance with the help of librarians which look like scientists.
