Elemental spells.
Simple ones to make would be fire and lightning.
They could either have no particle effects at all and just be like spawning a lightning strike or lightning bolt at the players feet or be shown coming from your player.
Either way is fine by me.

Yeah. I say from your player. Also with the musket, I saw the picture above the minecraft Xbox thing at game stop, and it showed Steve pointing a bow at the ender dragon. Wouldn't it look more manly if it showed him pointing a musket at it?

How about repair tools? Like the ones in elder scrolls, only they can't be obtained by crafting, they must be bought from villagers. You craft a used tool with a repair tool and it is new.

Why does this comment come off like sarcasm... even if the person didn't mean it that way, but the emphasis on select words makes it come off that way. Also it comes off like a smart-aleck.
I have to agree, none of these are minecraft, and COD should be left to Another voxel game I know of; which I don't like. Keep it simple...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Obviously it's sarcasm. He's just implying that Minecraft isn't a fighting game. And if you get overwhelmed quickly, quite frankly that means you're doing it wrong. It's easy to fight off hordes of mobs with just a sword. It doesn't even have to be enchanted.
obviously?! Unsure of that... But regardless that is what I was more implying than that person. After all there is another voxel that does just that. as I stated. All this collection of suggestions, just adds to the tactics if not variety in which combat can take place. That is how I see it. I would rather have a bit more tactical approach to doing in the mobs. Hack n slash is not my thing. Building is. However dealing with a minor threat is welcome.
Now to be able to choose the way I want to do combat, that would be a bonus, as of right now it is tools/sword/bow for attacking. Swords only do so much, but hardly any strategy. That is for hack n slash, or full on front line. Bow is for the ranged... Now if they had something that I could use defensively that would be nice; hence this thread to add more elements that is missing from combat itself.
For those that want to add to the combat this suggestion will do just that, well most of it. The parts that I would love to see anyway. Sure this is not a fighting game, but since there is fighting in it; does it not mean we should improve that along with the other aspects of the game? I believe yes to that. Why should the game only be adding creative or redstony stuff to the game. Yes I like my building materials, just like the next builder, however there is more to the game than just building. It is what you make of it.
Also in the state that the pc version is in, I just hope that the xbox doesn't get to that. Well what it is in at the moment. Since things are not scaled to difficulty. I mean certain things, the simple ones really do need to be scaled. Ok now I am just going into ranting... So I will leave it off there before going too far off topic...:D

Has anyone noticed that this is the biggest single topic in the Xbox section in this forum? The only topics that top it are the mobs thing and the skin thing.
For anyone who is wondering, the main goal of this topic is to make PVP better by not having one type of melee weapon and one type of projectile shooting weapon.

funny that is one of the reasons I don't play pvp... That and I am not a pvper... Beside that, there really is no tactics in pvp with weapon choice, just terrain. One reason I actually liked the idea in the first place. Of course you wouldn't see me much doing pvp, but at least I can tactfully play with the mobs having these ideas. At least that is how I look at it.
Makes sense though that this would improve pvp to some degree. As right now it is pretty bland in the weapon choice. Hence my statement of hack n slash... Cause that is basically all we really do if weilding a sword.
