Who would like to have shields and full-body armor??
I was thinking visors for the current helmets.
Maybe you can a a feather aswell to add those coloured fluffs some knights have on the backs of their helmets, it would be great for team games with armour.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
I thought feathers or bands or giant eagle hats represented a knights coat of arms.
Then if we get shields we could put two dyes to represent different coats of arms.
One could be base colours and the other could be for a design.
Say red was a griffio door looking design and you wanted that blue themed.
You would then have a golden griffon with blue shaded background, then on your helmet you could stick blue dye and a feather.
And since we're getting horses I want visors and lances aswell

We should get shields that we put in an inventory spot, and we parry using the shield instead of the sword. Coats of arms should work like item frames. They should be full functioning shields. Crusade shields would be cool. Viking shields would be cool though. Templar armor would be a better iron armor and steel armor, because it shields the face. Arrows should be rejected by it. You know what would be cool? if we had different anvils for different races, like an elven anvil, a dwarven anvil, a bunch more, and npc's to match them. The items you craft in the lets say, dwarven anvil, will have a certain look that makes sense for dwarves. Like horned helmets, tools that looked like a dwarf made it, like more curved blades, For elven, more of the body should be exposed, and it should be less protective, but last longer. Dwarven should be way more protective than elven and normal, but last shorter. Whenever I see pictures of elves wearing armor, most of their body is exposed. With dwarves, they are most protected. Elves and dwarves should fight each other, and siege each other. If you kill an elf that is fighting to siege the dwarf village, the dwarves will like you more, and the elves would like you less. Same with the elves. Not only should we get more tiers, we should be able to do different things with them! If you have an iron chest plate, a dwarven iron chest plate would be more protective, but the elven iron chest plate should be less protective. Elves should outnumber dwarves.
Minecraft doesn't need this because a diamond sword and a bow is very good. I have a survival world on HARD and an enchanted sword with fire aspect is OP enough. OH HOW ABOUT WE ADD SOME VIKING BEARDS ALONG WITH THESE AWESOME ADDITIONS! 100% No! 4J Studios would never even put this on their list of things to think about adding! You must cooperate with MC360's limitations. This game doesn't take place in the Medieval times. Okay? Okay.
This is my opinion. It's a really good one too. You have to think realistic when suggesting things to be added in.

If you got a one hit death lazer that fires a straight beam 20 times a second would you use anything else?
Besides the my idea of the mod is to make balanced weaponry.
Giving up speed and other things for more damage. It makes complete sense.
The equipment available to you in the game suggests a fantasy placed around the 1800s.

It will kinda feel like mideval if you only have your frigging fists to make weapons! Also, good luck hitting me when I am swerving. I would gain so much ground over an archer. Good luck killing me with a regen potion up and a fire resistance potion up and a full suit of budder armor. Hey, lastusernameimgonnatry?does it irritate you when a feature you want is disliked by everyone and will probably not get put in? I'm pretty mad about this. If I suggested it on PC and everyone hated it, I would post, "If you need me, I will be installing a mod," and never post there again. On Xbox, we don't have that option. Please 4J, Please make something that is similar to mods so our ideas don't get rejected because there are people who don't want them. Maybe a feature studio. Maybe call it the Mine craft Forge. Yes, named after the mod.
I definately think vXelerate is out of line jumping in and attacking ideas which are completely plausible.
The weapons are very balanced, greatly tactical and add alot more to the game in terms of combat.
I mostly like the weapons for PVP fighting but in mob terms a harder mode might be in order since you could probably one hit mobs with an enchanted battleaxe and keep them off you well with spears and stuff.
And where does he get off saying this game isn't medieval? there's swords, metal plate armour, bows.
What timeline would you propose it is?

That would be like an upgrade to a spear, but meant for horseback...:D
Different, but wondering how that would actually work..hmm...
Yes it would be difficult to implement.
And if they did it would have to be a sensible size.
Not sure if it would look strange to hold a three metre long pole in minecraft.

I don't know we have 3 block tall enderman... and some of those redstone contraptions well... wouldn't be out of place at least, after all there are a lot stranger looking things in the game. Although it could be something attached to a horse armor or something like that. Where if you rode the horse while on it you would be equiped with it instead of what weapon you had. Of course if they did that I would hope you could do the same for other weapon types.
But it is an idea of how at least. The lance would be up when not moving and when moving with the horse it would settle down to center like a charge you would see in that style of tournament. Hmm.. can't think of anything else at the moment.

I want this argument to keep going. So bring it on!
Okay, I regret saying that it doesn't take place in the Medieval Times because of this:
It can take place wherever you think it is! I think it's in the present; it's about guy named Steve stranded in the wilderness and is trying to survive. If you think it takes place in the Medieval Times, you can, but I am no longer going to fight about it being Medieval Times or not.
I don't like a huge amount of weapon variation. It's just not Minecraft. Unless you want these additions to be in a mod, I'm fine with that. Crossbows I could deal with, but not anything else you guys want.
I really hate (or envy) popular people on the forums. Like you (Last username) or Phoenix, Nose Job, and many others.

I can accept that It may take time in the present.
But just a sword is too basic.
Swords were only given to people with good training.
Foot soldiers mostly used spears because it meant they could keep the knights and stuff off them.
Great for fighting creepers especially in laggy LAN connections where they'll blow up without warning.
However as you say I would be happy for it to be a DLC, as you have shown its not everybody's cup of tea.
You should not envy people like me, I have a dark life and a dimmer future as I foresee it.

Agreed. Everything about it.If there was a fight and all else had swords, I would be that one person with a different weapon. I am that one person who would have different stuff than the crowd, and without variation, I can't be that person.
Medevil weaponry was all about using advantages in the lack of something else.
Spears again are a very good example, foot soldiers lacked good armour and skill so they instead fought from greater range where they could be safer.
I think I would find a tactical approach on minecraft warfare is alot more fun than who can get the most crits on the other player,
Or who's boots break first. It should be who has the best tactic/ the smartest player (the more unique weapons and different tactics the better)
Things like cool looking Viking shields and horned helmets would be cool aswell.
I like the idea of having themed sides in a survival RPG map like Viking vs... Some...people.
Maybe I'm crazy but to me that seems like a really fun server. Huge player battles grabbing small bits of and at a time.
Men charging in with axes, while some hang back with crossbows, horsemen gallop past and a half dazed man is flung 3 metres into the air by a powerful horseback hammer swing.
Bits of land represented by the spaces in between field hospitals. Every couple of days a new war Is raged on untill an army finally claims the kingly title and disbands the others into te wilderness. Inside the towns jobs are done and money is spent on food, home furnishings and new weapons to try out.
It seems like the coolest MMORPG ever to me ahh well maybe some day I'll grab a good PC, server and alot of creative builders.
