This idea actually gave me an idea, what if the minecraft world had modern technology that could be built, this would demonstrate the advancement of your world. Much like cavemen progressing towards today's culture. Idk how far that concept should go, but ithink it would be cool, perhaps even being able to expand your world into a space faring world...oh the possibilities, imagine going to other players worlds as if they were actually different planets. You could build teleporters and such... talk about a HUGE differentiation from the pc version
This would make PvP awesome, I think should also include things like bazookas, but make them hard to craft the ammo for it (you'd still be able to spawn a whole bunch in creative for custom PvP maps).

This thread is more about adding a few time specific weapons.
Me a radioactive would easily agree we don't want assault rifles.
If your gonna go that far off the topic then a new thread is in order.

Point taken, back on topic, Ithink period specific weapons would be a good idea. Nothing too complex, no guns. Mainly crossbows, spears, and catapults would be awesome, or even ropes that you could use to craft them. All in all to some extent i think new weapons would be a welcome addition.

Flintlock guns are in my opinion much more simple than some melee weapons.
It's just a piece of flint grinded down a piece of steel called the frizzen sending sparks into a pan with some powder which ignites the powder in the chamber aswell.
Before that you had to stick a match in a hole. Hence the name matchlock.

I'm not saying they aren't simple, i am just imagining building them in minecraft...unless they also added a weapon bench...then that could work, very well. They need to add new weapons and a weapon bench to make them, perhaps they could be made almost dead rising 2 style. By that i mean combine different weapons, such as a bow with wood plank to make a crossbow, or a crossbow with flint and steel. Perhaps they will add this as an xbox exclusive.
Muskets should be VERY expensive in the anvil table.
I agree if they add weapons then it only make sense that the more powerful weapons be very expensive. For instance a musket could require ghast tears or something not readily available. Rounds for a gun could be made of brass(if added), gunpowder, and iron ingot
One gunpowder for every shot is about right.
Not to mention they should degrade quickly and require about 8 or so iron ingots including in flint & steel.
Bullets should also be iron.
Crafted by one ingot next to paper gives 3 bullets. Then one gunpowder is also consumed per shot.
This could mean more realistic balancing by having to double load the musket.
But it should be timely not just a click, it would also slow you to crouch speed.

Okay, then not a bazooka, but a movable catapult, that launches either TNT or ignited sandstone. They already have mods for exploding bomb arrows, they should have that in the Xbox also.

Maybe.
It could just launch rocks though.
And do huge direct damage significant splash damage and small environment damage.
And there'd be cobblestone left there.
Maybe you could get your horse to tow it if we get them.

I second the catapult idea and posted about before. Catapults and trebuchets would be AWESOME
What if the thing (whatever you call the thing that holds the things it's going to launch) lets you can place anything in it.
So basically you could just launch whatever junk you have.

I actually made a topic right after posting this

How is that a problem, killing creepers only has a chance of gunpowder drops, same with ghast
