I have an idea, Pigmen trading. So basically since Pigmen are generally friendly, you can trade with them. But they offer REALLY bad deals (like 3 emeralds for 7 glow stone dust), but when you trade enough, they will become your friend. Maybe it can also call his posse over and you can have a group of 4 Pigmen following you.
To stretch the idea further, maybe when you lead it into the overworld and feed if golden apples, it will turn into a regular Pigman with a stone sword.

What do you think of this idea?
Again with the taming thing?!
Anyway, I don't see why they will be interested in trading anything. They are "zombies" after all. You know... mindless automatons.
Geez, It almost sounds as If you're irritated with the guy for trying to express his opinion/suggestion on something.
No. That can't be right...Because this Is the suggestion section and that wouldn't make sense...
OP - No support
Reasons
• Considering how common zombie pigmen are I don't think trades would be an appropriate for them.
• About the "turning them into a regular pigmen part" you see, Zombie pigmen are basically just pigs that were struck by lightning. So If anything, If feeding a golden apple to a zombie pigmen will do anything, It should turn him back Into a pig, which seems completely useless.

well maybe healing the zombie pigman should turn him into a regular pigman... there should be regular pigmen if there are zombie pigmen

Objection...
I'm sorry. I Just can't see It being true. There isn't such thing as a regular pigmen to begin with. Don't you think It makes sense for a zombie pigmen to turn back into a pig considering that's how they start off? Even if regular pigmen did exist, that seems like a completely different suggestion compared to zombie trading. If anything, this suggestion Is simply duping the mechanics of a zombie villager.

Actually Mojang considered putting a Pigman mob in the game, but IIRC they scraped the idea in lieu of the villagers. So the Zombie Pigmen are actually supposed to be 'zombie' Pigmen.
And to answer you're previous question: I don't understand everybody's obsession with wanting to tame everything in the game. Its nothing against anybody personally, it's just one of those suggestions that's beginning to grate.

Wow. Way to kill my phoenix wright impression This only apply's for my past statement about how I said "there aren't any regular zombie pigmen to begin with." Still, I'd rather not base my information off of something that was scraped. If you really think about It, the final draft Is all that matters, right?

The way I see It this goes both ways. I Feel OP was simply trying to add more variety to the game far as mobs go. It would be nice to spice things up now and then with more tamable mobs. I Wouldn't go as far to say "Zombie Pigmen" though. I Understand where you're coming from. I just thought maybe cut these guys some slack and not completely drain out the tamable mob suggestion, as far fetched as some of them are. -Cough- -cough- zombie pigmen not gonna happen -cough- -cough-
It didn't say the world tame. It said they would follow you can be passive (friendly) toward you. That is not taming.
With all due respect you're mincing words here. If the OP meant it as you say then I support it even less. What point would there be to having a bunch of pigmen following you around if they won't fight for you. Pigmen by nature are already neutral to the player. By saying "they will become your friend" implies a form of taming, similar to making a wolf "your friend."
u no that the Nether is really boring and has no purpose but if they did this in the game I wood go their. So the idea is really good.
I think so.
because.. if it's another dimension or lets just say "hell", because that's what it really resembles.
There has to be some sort of.. 'intelligent' life form in there.
Because really.. Are pigmen (at least as they are now), ghasts, magma cubes, and blazes really capable of building large complex structures like nether fortresses? haha.

We have no canon proof that they did build them.
The strongest proof of mobs building anything is the obsidian pillars in the End since Endermen can pick up some things.
And Nether trading could be used for Nether items....
What's so bad about that?
Everything in the Nether is renewable and easy to get. The most difficult thing to get would be Ghast tears, and even at that I have 2 stacks of them....

And we don't have canon prove they didn't build them either. But I didn't say they did. I said as the pigmen are now (because the thread creator proposed or somebody else proposed that there could be non-zombie-like-pigmen to trade with), so what if they were the ones that did?
Maybe you have a knack for getting a lot of tears, so what? Not everyone might be as skilled as you. But no one even said it had to be nether items.. it could be something interesting like... "bring 5 emeralds and i'll give you a potion of enchantment" or something. It could be many things, nether related, or brewing related (1 emerald for 5 fermented spider eye perhaps),
I'd like this because it would take away the element of the nether being the place where everything wants you dead 24/7, or exp farm sort of thing.
All this idea is, is a stupid version of mine that i made in my suggestion: More for the nether (Xbox 360). I said that there could be a normal pigmen village where they would trade with you... i said nothing about taming them. Besides, who wants a pet psychotic pig with a sword following them around?

We have villagers for trading and wolves for fighting.
I see no point in turning a mutant of the Underworld into your "posse."
You know where to go if you want either of these aspects.
Stay fluffy~

This is not a taming idea. It is a TRADING idea.
