I understand that we are playing the Xbox version of Minecraft but why does that mean it has to be so watered-down? MCX360 edition's audio options are Extremely Limiting. As it is on PC now, their options for music and sounds are:
Master Volume
Music
Weather
Hostile Creatures
Players
Jukebox/Noteblocks
Blocks
Passive Creatures
Ambient/Environment
The Xbox360 edition consists of:
Music
Sounds
We have very little control to these settings. It's an "all or nothing" scenerio and that's a bit upsetting. I don't know about the rest of you but when you hear a constant loop of the same music over and over and over it gets a tad repetitive. I love C418's work but even he would agree.
"Well just turn off the music." That's the problem with the current version of MCX360; By turning down the music, I give up my noteblock sounds, my jukebox music, and my ambient sounds. I don't want to sacrifice all that just because it's all classified under Music. Say I want to turn down Hostile Creature sounds so Ghasts aren't as loud. In doing so I've now turned down weather, walking/running, environmental sounds, Passive Creatures, breaking block sound effects and more. For such an open and expansive game such as this filled with music and sounds, the options we have just doesn't do it justice for having only two settings - Music and Sound.
So what I would like to see - and suggest!- is that the audio options are overhauled to match that of what PC has. It only makes sense that way. Ambient sounds, noteblocks, and jukeboxes should not be classified under one setting. Also, Hostile Creatures, Passive Creatures, Players, Weather, and blocks should not all be categorized together in one option either. Give all Music and Sounds their own respective options, allowing us to personalize our settings. Thanks for reading and please share your thoughts.
Mind you 1.7.2 was when the variety in the sound options was implemented, and we're multiple digits behind that.
I personally don't have a problem with it the way it is, but that's just me since I don't use Jukeboxes a lot.
The only thing I have modified on the PC is the weather, which is 70% instead of 100%.
And really...Ghasts aren't that loud anymore.
Rain aside, the sounds are pretty balanced.
But yeah...maybe we'll get them eventually.
I don't care either way, but that's just me.
The ghast and C418's music are merely examples, I'm just trying to get a point across. I had not realized that the variety of sound options were implemented in a later update on PC and assumed they had already been there.
Granted, this isn't something that everyone is looking forward to but it's something that would be exceptional to have and a shame if the options weren't implemented in the future. Thanks for the heads up by the way.
"MCX360 edition's audio options are Extremely Limiting." This is an opinion, not a fact.
"As it is on PC now, their options for music and sounds are:
Master Volume" We don't even have that in the game yet, so why would you make an improvement on something that doesn't exist?
I think the settings are fine the way they are, but if they added this, I wouldn't be annoyed or anything. Half support.
Actually it is a fact... It is limited and he gave examples as to why. Agreeing or disagreeing... that's the opinion.
And I agree. We do need more control over sound...
For me it's because I hate animals so much that I wish there was an option to remove them completely unless you spawn them yourself....
I also had every other mob noise too. I hate hearing zombies do their spit gurgling sound over and over when you can't see them, and I hate spiders, and ghasts.
All I want to hear really is me mining, and walking perhaps. that's about it. Lol.
I really wish we had more specific control over audio in Xbox like there is the PC. I hatehatehate, supertotally hate ambience. "Thank you, random clip of electronic feedback, for letting me know there's a dark open space somewhere underneath me. May I get back to my game now?" I abandoned one Survival world where I had built a huge farm and homebase complex with a dock, fishing pond and protecting wall with entrance towers and mini-mob trap around the whole thing, and despite how marvelously monster-proof it was, I could not get the ambience from the underground caverns to stop no matter how many torches and cobblestone patches I laid down. So I would hear it all the time in my house and around my fishing pond and pens. It was like Chinese water torture.
And we really need more control of the volume level of animals.

I'm not really sure why they really add it anyway... I've been in a couple of caves i think.. while thye were very small... the only sounds I heard were sounds that came fro me walking or breathing or something etc.
So.. I'd rather them add thigns like "echos" if they must add sounds in caves for no reason at all
It seems like not everyone is a fan of the ambient sounds. You wouldn't have to put up with them if 4J implemented PC audio controls in the next update...

But I guess mine isn't as detailed as yours so it makes sense.
Because like my thread states... I hate how there's Music Volume and "everything-else-volume".
Because all I want on occasion is to hear me walk/mine that's it. I don't want to hear zombies gurgling their spit, or the twong sounds of skeletons, and especially not cows and their extremely annoying MOO sound. lol
No yours is a great thread that I failed to find via the search bar. I do hope that the developers have this on their to-do list with the console versions.

Oh. Well thank you
I guess we both have in agreement something in common lol
