After losing all my villagers to a zombie apocalypse in my flat world, I was thinking it would be nice to have a possibility of future villagers. Maybe a villager spawn egg as a rare drop from a zombie villager? villager eggs in the bonus chest perhaps? What do you think?
I think that there is a rare chance that a Zombie villager will spawn in the world, and your challenge is to cure that zombie villager to accomplish your goal of village re-population.
Yes I am quite aware of protecting my villagers. I have a moat around my village and that has kept out all mobs for as long as I can remember. Never had an issue. When TU14 came out this month, I seemed to get zombie apocalypses every night. They were spawning inside the villager's homes and with the addition of the zombie villager that must have been too much for them even with 3 iron golems. I was spending a lot of time in my nether half slabbing it. When I came out, there were no villagers in sight...
That's because on flat worlds there are no Blazes on the Nether. There are just loads of ghasts, zombie pigmen and magma cubes.
Oh right... Flat world ... I had forgotten... what about suggesting that there be a way to get to the nether in world generation of a flat world as well as a Nether Fortress Spawning with Blazes in the Nether related to that flat world?
eh... all in all, I don't see a reason to not add Nether components to villager trading options... maybe an Alchemist profession or something where you can get soul sand, netherwart, blaze rods, glowstone dust, etc. and maybe a Quarry-master profession where you can get obsidian, stone, chiseled blocks, nether quartz ore, netherrack, gravel, etc. Maybe a glassblower profession where you can get glass, sand, potion bottles, windows, glowstone, etc.
Honestly, that's your problem then.
I have a Superflat survival and my villagers are doing just fine.
We have a way to renew villagers via curing. Having an egg drop is not something that we need.

Why not just go to the Nether and pick up a Blaze Rod there? That's arguably one of your best sources for gold for the golden apple recipe anyway...
