I still haven't seen any convincing reason to add new metal ores. My position remains that the addition of new weapon / armor tiers will throw off the current balance.
I seriously wish there was a NO! option throughout the poll. Those ores only exist in mods and only make sense in those mods. There is no justification at all for them to exist in the actual game. Everything is perfect the way it is. There would be no way to balance all of those things with what already exists. They would also make the ores that are actually useful spawn less. I couldn't possibly object to this more than I already do.

It isn't perfect though....
While I did say that having all these would give it not incentive to really work... I did think over that.. maybe a lot of the current items that are made of specific metals, for example, be replaced and only be able to made out of other materials... as opposed to just iron.
For example... Maybe have buckets be only made out of tin, so that way it's more of a challenge to make a bucket as opposed to just iron. Iron is pretty easy to find... and makes a lot of things. And buckets... can really be an absolute necessity for a miner depending on the player's style of play. This would make the getting a bucket more worth it because you had to go more 'out of your way' to get a bucket.
And since a lot of players who play this game, really say that this is too easy.. and really once you get a system going there's no real reason to go mining unless you want to.. this would give more of a challenge... and give actually MORE incentive to go mining and working (as opposed to what my opinion was beforehand) because there's always something more to get.

Yes, iron is easy to find. But it is also used for many different recipes, meaning it gets used up quickly. Adding tin simply to replace iron in the bucket recipe doesn't really add anything to the game. If iron-generation is reduced proportionally to accommodate tin-generation then nothing really changes except now player have another item that takes up their precious inventory slots.
Why would they only make sense in mods? More ores can be suitable in vanilla Minecraft. Can you please explain more and elaborate?
They make sense in those mods because those mods have specific recipes that require them. What specific recipes would you suggest to have the ores added to console MC?
And the rubies, which would be twice the value of emeralds.
That's pretty subjective, isn't it?
What if the rubies only spawned in certain biomes, let's say deserts. And they spawned with the same frequency as emeralds. A map with more desert than Extreme Hills will therefore have more rubies than emeralds... making emeralds more valuable in that particular world.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Version (and Playstation versions) are based on Minecraft PC version. Mojang would have to agree on this and add it into the PC version before it could be added to console versions.
Everybody is well aware of this. This is is not a valid reason not to support this idea.
I really have no hope in 4J ever seeing, nor considering implementing anything for the 360, so I'm really not going to waste my time making any suggestions that people will deliberately attempt to shoot down even if they support it on the inside.
With 16,000 more before I accept d3fin3d's offer to become a moderator.
I don't see the big deal about reaching 4,000....
Then why do these forums truly exist? If they're the 'official forums' of the game, then what's the point in having all this going on if they NEVER read it? That's ridiculous.
You think they seriously just sit in an office and come up with every single thing added to this game totally on their own? That's also ridiculous.
And since the forums are for discussion and coming up with new ideas (something you like to clearly over analyse), Why not have YOU come up with a thread that's over analysed and detailed? Everyone else seems to agree with you.. I'd love to see you come up with something for once.
Though knowing you... you'd somehow manage to diss yourself on the details and relevant-ness on your own idea. Hopefully not though.. We're the ones with the keyboards afterall.

Why would you want something important to be more challenging to make? Iron is easy to find BECAUSE it makes a lot of things! Buckets are already worth it because they're useful in many ways. Making them harder to get will make the game worse, not better! If people want something more challenging, they can play something else!
I would love to see new ores for new armor and for dye.
I would love to see more armor that protects against certain things like falling for boots and respiration for helmets.
I would like to see silver, topaz, and sapphire for grey/brown/purple dyes. I am sure they could be used for something else too.

I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone.
I long for that feeling to not feel at all.
The higher I get, the lower I'll sink.
I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim.
Then why do these forums truly exist? If they're the 'official forums' of the game, then what's the point in having all this going on if they NEVER read it? That's ridiculous. You tell me. I heard a while back that they barely--if ever--check suggestion forums.
You think they seriously just sit in an office and come up with every single thing added to this game totally on their own? That's also ridiculous. I never said that. They could think of them at home, too, or in a coffee shop.
And since the forums are for discussion and coming up with new ideas (something you like to clearly over analyse), Why not have YOU come up with a thread that's over analysed and detailed? Do I have a reason to other than to "prove" that I can?
Everyone else seems to agree with you.. I'd love to see you come up with something for once. Keep dreaming.
Though knowing you... you'd somehow manage to diss yourself on the details and relevant-ness on your own idea. Not that I would either way.
Hopefully not though.. We're the ones with the keyboards afterall. What in the heck am I using to type then? ._.
Telling me to write a good suggestion is like telling a movie critic to write and direct a sequel to Titanic.
That's just a storage/building block, it doesn't count.
Adding new gems to be used for that would COMPLETELY destroy the trading system!
A storage/building block does indeed count, because it is craftable, and is an item. We can craft tools and armor as well, or does that "not count" either?
How would they destroy the trading system? I never said they HAD to be used for trading.

Sorry, but that's not enough to convince me.

R = rubies
Ruby block recipe:
[R] [R] [R]
[R] [R] [R]
[R] [R] [R]
And we can do the same thing for the other ores that should be added.
I like this idea.

What do you want in a new ore and why?
Will it be a decorative ore like nether quartz, a crafting ore like iron, or money ore like emeralds?
I miss paint.
Lol.
Since I found the photo's online, they had emeralds, which xbox already has so I edited it and crossed it out

Lol I see where this is connecting too. But that wouldn't be that bad... this actually seems like a good idea.
