My problem: I always wanted to make a town. Im sure everyone in Minecraft for the Xbox also wanted it too!
Some people managed to successfully do so but some others find it difficult because there are some issues that needs to be fixed! Without these issues being fixed some of us cannot create the towns we wish to create the way we wanted.
Issues: These issues include randomized worlds and not enough room! The randomized worlds are any world basically which are created randomly or by a thing known as seeds. However I thought it would be easier to have pre-made seeds. Kind of like the "tutorial world, or the superflat world."
They can be called "super Ice world" or "Flat lands." These are pre-made worlds that you can chose from so you know where things are going to go! Why is this a good idea? Simple! Some people dont want super flat world but want a generally flat world, but they dont want a snow biome in it either. Maybe the most flat part of the world is a desert and the rest is high mountains! Who can build a modern town like that?
Its also hard to find a seed that suits someone's needs!

The next issue is the extension. In super flat world you can go down by a few couple blocks until you hit bedrock and its hard to do anything under ground with a tiny space like that. Only 3-4 blocks down and you cant even break bedrock because if you magically did you would find a void (PC Version)
Anyways my point is why not add more layers of dirt so when you dig down it will take at least 20-30 blocks max to reach to bedrock? it would be great if you want to build a subway or something in your flat world!
Also the world is a decent size I do admit (not height wise) its just I build things quite a lot and quite large. Since I do I find it more necessary to need more length and depth than height really, there is so much wasted space I dont use on superflat world and its only because of the height.
Since I normally dont build my builds in normal worlds due to so many un-wanted seeds that dont meet up with a few things I ask for, super flat world seems kinda a waste of space because the highest part of my town goes to 150, not too tall but its supposed to be luxurious not extremely tall.
If I was to go and do the same in a normal world the height would be fine but the terrain being so rough, most of my builds would come out not so good looking!

The height isnt my problem, but its the extension of the length and width not being as enough (plus the dirt height of super flat world) plus the rough terrain and multi biomes
I dont know Im only stating the problems I encounter while trying to make my town and believe me its extremely hard and Im sure I must not be the only one, I hate complaining, I do! I mean I had this issue since I started minecraft and I have not complained until now (its been a year since i started)
I just hope some of you can relate to what Im trying to say!
*Also I did mentioned multi biomes earlier!
I dont like the idea of having a snow biome next to a jungle biome with a lurking desert biome being so close to each other, it makes it look really odd for cities and towns!
(Sorry I just had to say)

Minecraft is a game... so finding something difficult is just part of the challenge of truly playing a game.
Issues: These issues include randomized worlds and not enough room! The randomized worlds are any world basically which are created randomly or by a thing known as seeds. However I thought it would be easier to have pre-made seeds. Kind of like the "tutorial world, or the superflat world."
There is plenty of room to build towns. Variable terrain within the town just makes the game more challenging. The tutorial world is not made using a "custom seed" as far as the terrain goes... it is built on a regular one and the builds are adapted to the "random" terrain... as are the two different Mash-Up pack worlds that have come out so far.
I do agree that the current superflat option iis pretty useless... but they are really supposed to be only used as a "blank slate" for elaborate builds in creative mode... That is, the player is supposed to add their custom terrain... not just plunk a building on the top of the grass.
However, I would support an alternate superflat that set ground level at sea level (Y60), but that's about as far as I would agree to this; and I suspect people would still complain though because the locations of ores and such would not be random and there would not be caves.
The "random" elements ARE what make this game that game it is... and it baffles me why so many people want to profess "survival" but still have the devleoper eliminate most of the "challenges" the GAME presents them.
